    Poor tasting food.

JC's Chinese Restaurant should be closed down. We ordered delivery. Everything finally arrived after an hour or so. We did not receive the food that we ordered. JC's got some of our order mixed up. Not wanting to cause problems, we tried what JC's delivered to us. All the food was cold. It was not edible. Tasted leftover. The vegetables were slimey. YUK!

    Chicken not Good

We ordered Chicken and Broccoli. It was mostly all broccoli and only a few pieces of inferior chicken. The chicken tasted almost spoiled as if it was very old or very cheap quality. Poor tasting food. No value. Not worth the price.

    Pretty poor

I ordered sesame chicken with wanton soup. Soup was good. Chicken was worse. First of all it was delivers in one of those plastic quart containers you get soup in, so it was LOADED with their sauce. The sauce was pretty poor, kinda just tasted like ketchup, but everything was soaked in it so it made it even worse. Also it came to 15 bucks but whatever. Wouk not recommend or even eat for free. Also Mike Deccio rated this best Chinese in the city, while only commenting on the wings and seafood. Wat

J.C is still on top after all these years

J.C is by far the best chinese food in south philadelphia. Me and my family ordered on a friday night. We ordered J.C world famous wings. When i tell you they are out of this world i mean it. They should take their special sauce and market it and send it to the frozen food isle in the supermarkets. We also ordered the seafood special. The size of shrimp and lobster meat is HUGE. Plus all the other seafood in it. It was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right and it was a great porportion. We also had the general chicken which was so good. The product that J.C cooks is so fresh and tasty. I actually called the owner that night to tell him the food is the best chinese food in the city. I could not complement him enough. J.C is the pioneer of chinese food in philadelphia and will always my favorite place to eat.

Far Too Expensive, Not Very Good

My family used to order from JC back in the day (15+ years ago), and they had very good food, good prices, specials and good portions. After talking the place up to some visiting friends, we decided to order up food for 4 people. They don't issue prices in ads or menus----and that is because the prices are off-puttingly HIGH, were you to look at them in print. I had to ask for the prices of each item as I ordered and before they had taken the entire order, the total was over $60! SIXTY DOLLARS, for food for four. Determined to see the idea through and not wanting to lose face, I went ahead and asked them to deliver it.... Well over an hour later the food showed up. Cold. No noodles. Almost no sauce packets. Portions are small for the price. It didn't look very good and it tasted old, like it had been re-heated. I was embarrassed and felt cheated. JC's was at one time even better than most places in Chinatown. Now, it's a sad, expensive shadow of its former self.

    Not recommended

I ordered Kung Pao Chicken, Shrimp with Cashews and 2 Spring rolls. The Chicken was in thin slices, all vegetables, no spice or flavor at all, there were only 5 shrimp, a few sprinkles of cashews and loads of veggies. The Spring roll looked like an eggroll, was doughy and the only thing inside was shredded cabbage.
