big disappointment
Johnny Manana's WAS my most favorite mexican restaurant EVER. they HAD the best margaritas...best food....great prices...etc; WAS and HAD are the key words here..... I made another trip back to Manana's yesterday, now that I knew they were fully up and running again.... only to find a menu of half the size...and an even smaller margarita menu. Since we had already eaten earlier....we were just stopping in for one of those yummy margaritas I loved so much..... Although they had a full bar....all the margaritas on the menu all were made with Cuervo Gold (yuck)... but whatever.....I ordered one anyway..... the old bigger sized margaritas I was used to getting.... are now served in a small (Ball) jelly jar...... tasted like they had no tequila.... the sour mix was so sour it gave me an upset stomach (not homemade like before).... and they were $9.00! $9.00 for a small and weak margarita?! seriously?! I am in no way a cheap person.....and when it comes to a good drink and good food.....I do not pinch pennies...... but this is just ridiculous..... I could go to many more places in the city......and get a bigger....better tasting margarita....made with better ingedients.......for way less (if not the same) I think this will sadly be my last trip to Mananas...... last two experiences have been a TOTAL let down:(

Do not eat here
The food is overpriced and bland, the kitchen is slow, and the staff are incredibly rude.

Never Again :(
I have wanted to try this place for years, and when I finally did - I was very disappointed. First we were sat at a table with used plates on it. Our server (Alyssa) took forever with everything. From greeting us, to bringing us our waters (and later our refills). She forgot napkins and silverware. The place wasn't even busy. There were two other tables in the whole place being used. The food was good, but nothing spectacular. If I go back it will be for take out.

Good Option
If you are hungry for Mexican this place will hit the spot. Unlike another poster. I had a dish I was not happy with and they gladly took it away and quickly brought something that was much better.

I love Johnny's
I have been at Johnny Manana's about 7 times since I moved here from L.A. in December 2007. It is a wonderful restaurant. The food is very authentic and the decor is Fascinating. I am looking forward to Saturday at Manana's!

ehh
this place has atmosphere going for it. there are not many mexican options in the area where you can get a margarita. food is poor for what you pay for. there is a nice selection of drinks - but they are mostly mix and little liquor.
