Star Quality
Not only is the food ,the atmosphere and the value great.the service is awesome. Our waiter on our first and second visit was both informative and fun. He instinctively knows when join in and when to fade. A real star. I tasted my first goat, WOW, delightful and the couscous best I have ever had.We live nearby and will return often.

Best BYOB in Philadelphia
Best restaurant in Philadelphia...Being there three times and every time I love it more..Chef plays with flavors and condiments in a very adventure and amazing way. This little BYOB is a Philadelphia Gem. We always paid around $80-$85 per couple, which includes two appetizers, two entrees, and dessert. If you go to Amada or Zahav, you will end up paying the same and will leave the place starving. In Kanella you will leave full and satisfy. We cannot get enough of this place. Last week, we wanted to open one of the two bottles we have of 2008 Wine of the Year, Casa Lapostolle Clos Apalta, and decided there were no better place to open this bottle than Kanella. We were so right. Service is awesome, love the touch of the owner/chef always stopping by all the tables at the end of the night. Very European, once you get a table it is yours for the night. No rush, just enjoy and bring a good bottle of wine because this place is worthy.

Delightful lunch in all respects......
Went for the first time and was delighted (as were my 2 guests) by the low key, charming and efficient service and excellent food. Waiter was helpful and articulate, and not thrown by our request to wait for late person and then order ASAP. We shared the eggplant appetizer, delicious, and separate entrees that were all well prepared and presented. Chef asked us to try sample dish that was wonderful and original. Can't wait to return for dinner. Bright, airy, spacious and a perfect journey to Cypress in Philly.

very tasty
i definitely recommend this place - we're vegetarian and both meatless entrees (mint/cheese ravioli and pilaf stuffed peppers) were delicious. the service was also good.
