We have dined at Karina's many times, and we were always satisfied. Our last visit there was very disappointing. There's a new waitress, (only one for the whole place and night) which is ridiculous. She runs around like a maniac, looks lost and confused all he time. We asked her to open our wine several times, and we eventually opened it ourselves, after we looked for a wine opener. By then we were almost done with our diner. The way she runs, I'm surprised she hasn't hit people with a plate full of food and end up with a scene from a SNL sketch. The girls before her Marissa and Shannon were much better, polite, and knew how to handle the dinner rush. The food is not what it used to be either. However, the prices are very reasonable. If you're looking for okay food at very reasonable prices, but caution here the service can be hazardous to the customers. If you are willing to take the hit from service then go for it.

I was referred by a friend and it did not disappoint. I went on a Sunday eve so it was not at all busy and therefore the service was excellent. My friend & I shared 3 dishes. The arugula salad was very fresh and lightly dressed -- perfect. We followed with fetucini in a lamb ragout; the pasta was very fresh and the ragout was perfectly seasoned; our 3rd dish was vitello and again, it was fresh and very well prepared and the sauce was nicely seasoned. We did not have dessert but I did have a capucino which turned out to be the only disappointment of the meal.

I read the reviews and decided to check it out. Really not good. I'm not the type to write a bad review but there are so many better restaurants throughout the city. A restaurant, albeit a dozen tables, can't have the entire front of the house run by one person. Yeah, she's nice, but she's seating, taking orders, food running and bussing and if you're a 2 top in the corner, you're going to be forgotten. The Caesar salad was great, the bread and oil/vinegar was great, but the chicken parm and spaghetti were mediocre at best. Pre-sliced mozzarella slapped on top of a salty chicken cutlet and placed in a salamander for 10 seconds doesn't scream pride in food. The seafood spaghetti I ordered had a handful of TINY mussels, a few TINY clams, ONE (fresh? Doubt it) shrimp and was filled out with baby canned shrimp. Mealy texture really turned me off. For the money, atmosphere food and desire to have a nice night out, find another spot.

Expected better. Sauce was watery and portions on the small size. On the plus side very little salty taste , salad was fresh and bread warm and crispy. Excellent service. Worth a try but don't expect WALA.

My husband and I went to Karina's after a fliers game tonight. We didn't make reservations thinking, who would go out to dinner at 5 o'clock? When we arrived Marissa pleasantly greeted us asking if we had reservations. Of course we said no fully expecting it not to be a problem. She said they were booked and we were somewhat apologetic that we hadn't made reservations. I felt we would need to leave but she figured out a way to seat us. She was wonderfully accommodating. She made our night! She was lovely and sweet and even though I could tell she was under a lot of pressure with all the reservations they had, she still extended a gracious invitation to stay. I cannot even tell you how amazing the food was! I had the penne Caruso and it was delicious! The portion sizes were perfect not too much and not too little, just right. The place is very small and the atmosphere is quite modest, but if, It's the food you care about this is where you want go. My husband had their mussels in white wine sauce and the broth was amazing and mussels were so tender. This place was a real treat and we are so grateful that Marissa was working and made accommodations so that we could enjoy their delectable cuisine! Oh, and for those of you who care more about price than good food, the prices were extremely reasonable!! Can't beat this place! It was our delight to be ther tonight. As we left tonight Marissa apologized for not being more attentive....are you kidding??? You were wonderful and a bright spot to our day! Thank you Marissa! Actually both you and the other young lady working tonight (we didn't get her name) were simply wonderful!

Don't be fooled by the decor. The food was amazing and made with love! Unique menu with both Italian and Spanish dishes. Waitress was a bit rough around the edges but I'll definitely go back
