I recently dined at Karma Restaurant and it was the best experience I have ever had. To start off my waiter Ronni was the nicest ever and was very helpful. The food came out promptly and was very tasty. I would definitely repeat and recommend to all my friends.

Delicious food and great service. My first time at karma was yesterday. Lets just say I've been really selling myself short by going to the Indian places in Univ. City. The food at Karma was amazing... my mouth is watering as I'm writing this review. I have to shout out the staff as well as the owner... they were so nice and helpful. Definitely recommend this place.

Exceptional food. Great service. Fabulous location. What more could you want? If you are an avid fan of Indian food, as I am, Karma is the best place to try. The food here is superb - I have not found a better Indian place in the city, and believe me I think I've tried them all! The staff is always friendly, and it couldn't be in a better location. I've always loved Olde City, and although I love trying different restaurants, Karma is one place I frequent quite often. I especially love coming here in the summer when the weather is nice and you can take a nice walk around Penn's Landing before dinner or even afterwards for a stroll. The food here is delicious and always has been- it's what always keeps people coming back. A must-try for Indian cuisine in the city!

I have had Indian Food all over the world... Before Karma, it was a small place in Egypt was my fav... But now since I descended on Karma, it is my all time fav for Indian food. Why this makes me so excited is because its in my hometown Philadelphia... I'm telling you it's always the small restaurants that impress me the most when it comes to food!

First off, let me say that I don't usually write reviews. But while google-ing Karma to see what their summer hours were, I was surprised and disappointed to see some mixed reviews, and I felt that I needed to set the record straight. I can confidently say that after having tried Indian cuisine at basically every restaurant in town (including, but not limited to, Tiffin, Palace at the Ben, Cafe Spice - no longer in business-, New Delhi, Sitar, etc.), Karma is hands-down my favorite. Their food has always been exceptional, and I have had nothing but positive experiences with the service there. Although I have only been acquainted with Indian cuisine for about 6-7 years now, it has quickly become one of my favorites and so I consider myself somewhat of an expert now! Not to mention that all of my friends/co-workers who are of Indian descent rave about Karma and always attest to how authentic their food is. I introduced my wife to Karma 2 years ago and now she's as hooked as I am. The butter chicken and naan are her favorite, and I can't get enough of the Biryani (rice) dishes and the lamb vindaloo. The biryani is so flavorful and tasty, without being greasy as I've seen at other places - definitely the best I've had. They are very accomodating to preparing the dishes to your liking- a little less spicy or extra spicy if you dare! This is a great place to try if you're new to Indian food as well. I work in Center City and have brought many coworkers to Karma for lunch- many of them first timers to the 'curry cuisine.' Their lunch buffet is probably the most extensive and electic selection I've seen in the city, and an especially great choice if you're trying Indian for the first time. Because there are so many options, it is a great way to sample different dishes and find your favorites. And believe me, you will! Don't hesitate to try dinner there as a first timer either - the waiters are very accomodating and good at explaining what each of the dishes are and helping you choose something you'll like. My wife and I just had dinner here Wednesday night, and we witnessed one of the owners actually at another customer's table describing the dishes and helping them pick something off the menu - now that's service! So my one recommendation: please don't be swayed by any mixed reviews - if you are looking for great Indian cuisine, Karma is the one place to try! I guarantee you'll be coming back for more.

My husband and I eat at Karma regularly. We are both huge fans of Indian Food, as a result we have been to many Indian restaurants in and around Philadelphia. Karma is by far the best!! We love the Naan, Navrattan Korma and Panner Tikka Butter Masala. There is also a variety of Indian Beers and Cocktails that are lovely. If you are looking for a great place for dinner I strongly suggest trying Karma.
