First let me start by saying I'm a Villanova grad, class of '87 and I remember Kelly's an old but cool dive for college kids with the bar right in the front and on the warm days they would open the folding glass doors and it was almost and outdoor patio. I partied there many times and of course we had a great party there when the Wildcats Men"s basketball team won the Nat'l title back in '85. I've only been back in that area a few times since I graduated but it was very brief. Anyway, this past fall, I' decided to finally go to homecoming weekend and decided to go to Kelly's to see the old hangout. When I arrived, I was very surprised how it looked. They remodeled it so nice and opened the upstairs which is so spacious. Talk about a far cry from how it was back in the mid 80's when I was there. The food was good and it was great to be back. Of course the prices are higher now but its over 20 years later so what do you expect. I asked the bartender how long ago it was remodeled and she it was about 6 or 7 years ago. I almost couldn't believe it was the same place. I seen a few places that were still there from my time but I can't believe how it has changed so much since then. I can't believe that there are new trains on the 69th St - Norristown train that runs through campus. I remember those ancient trains on there. Anyway, Kelly's is a great place to hang when in the area or if you're going to school and I highly recommend it.

Kelly's has a good bar menu and the quality of food is good, however it is over priced compared to other local bars. The beer [select]ion was somewhat limited.
