Great Indian food, bad service
I'm not normally the type to complain about service, but King of Tandoor is ridiculous. If you go, you need to budget 2 hours because you never know how long it will take for your food and/or bill to arrive. I have yet to pay with a credit card because I was always afraid I'd have to wait another 15 minutes for them to process it. The only other thing that bugs me is that I feel like they really try to push you to spend more. Like the appetizer that they don't tell you costs $5 and consists of about 6 different sauces and thin, brittle "bread". Aside from that, the food is really good. I just moved back from New York and I'd say that the food here ranks up with the best Indian in Manhattan.

Our Favorite Indian in Philly
King of Tandoor is our favorite Indian restaurant in Phialdelphia, and we have tried them all. Their food is fresh and flavorful, the staff warm and welcoming, and the delivery is the fastest we've experienced thus far!

best indian food in philly
I have been to almost all the Indian restaurants in Philly and suburb and I frequently visit these.King of Tandoor has the best and authentic taste(that we get In India).I will not say that it is perfect but it is the best available in the area. Chef/Mgmt seem to know the diff, between various items when it comes to ingredients.Normally when you go to some place they do not know what the diff is between curry, masala or Korma but these folks know. One thing which I do not like about this place is that, they have item for Achar separately which is $2.95, which is outrageous. Similarly they have Raita for $2.95, which also is outrageous. These items should either be included in meal or if they want to charge, it should be say under 50 cents

Great ambience but subpar food.
The restaurant looks great on the inside. Sadly, the service and (more importantly) the food left a great deal to be desired. The wait staff took an unreasonably long time to come take our order and the food was extremely greasy and loaded with excessive amounts of cream. I would not recommend this to others or go back myself.

Wonderful Indian BYOB
Dinner here is a great experience. Polite attentive service, clean quiet calm atmosphere, excellent Indian dishes at very good prices. BYOB. Servers are personable and make great recommendations. Hope they keep it up. Delivery can take awhile so I recommend eating there - plus they always give me free dessert.

really great Indian food!! :)
Really great Indian food. I am Indian and many of my Indian friends love the food too. That should say it all. The food tastes like home. Not too oily and not overly spicy - just flavorful. Note though, the naan is overpriced for amount given. I mostly order-in and the food has *always* arrived at the quoted time. (My friend's order was late, but they sent a whole bunch more food as an apology.) I am really happy they serve halal food too. Overall, I hope this restaurant stays around for a long time because I eat here sooo often.

disappointing!
I placed a delivery order and did not receive my food for over an hour and a half. When I finally received my food, it was cold and the bread was soggy. The lamb kurma was without flabor and the vegetable biryani was not even completely cooked.
