One of my fav coffee shops in Philly
I like this place. They have very decent breakfast for cheap. I love the barekas (especially the mushroom) and I've had really good egg dishes there too. All served with salad and olives and pickles. I have mostly that and coffee. It's not the best coffee in the world (Other places have better), but it will do (The atmosphere is better at LaVa though, than others) I like the vibe, like sitting outside when its nice out and the choice to sit at a table to do work, or big coushy chairs and sofas to veg.

overpriced tea boiled to the brink of extinction
i wanted to love this place but instead was served a cup of tea approximately the temperature of the sun, then was charged about 6 bucks for it. when i asked why so expensive, the drone behind the counter stated "it's loose leaf tea". whatever.

Not the best
I had high hopes for this place - its close, decent atmosphere and room to spread out and work. The food is only meh. The coffee is nothing particularly special. The finals straw for me was when the servers overcharged me on 3 separate occasions for 3 separate (mediocre) items. There are better places to go...

Cute place, good sandwiches
I've only just moved to the neighborhood, but this place is pretty good. There is a small selection of pre made sandwiches which all look tasty, and the two that I've tried, the turkey and the spicy tuna, have been very yummy. The place itself is a little worn, but cozy and comfortable. The iced tea and lemonade are also great.
