Drinks good, food not
In town for a conference, and wandered into this place for dinner. Ordered a chicken pesto sandwich that came with a slather of pesto on dry chicken. The sandwich was sitting in a pool of olive oil that had separated from the pesto. Sent that back, and asked for a cheeseburger, medium. I received a cheeseburger, raw. Sent that back. The manager did comp my beer, but I had to go somewhere else for dinner.

exquisitely surprising
I am not a foodie by profession, but I have dined in enough fancy places to appreciate good food. Ansill has done an amazing job with the menu here. I pretty much tried all of it over the course of a couple visits. What makes the food surprising is that I was watching the Eagles pre-season game drinking flying fish cherry hill ale, and paying at least 20% less than what I think its really worth. The steak tartare was completely unexpected, almost to the point of not belonging on a Sansom street American bar. Sounds paradoxical, but this place can only be described as a gem, in terms of food quality.

this place stinks
This place is confused. They are nothing more than an Irish Pub trying to be trendy and upscale. I gave it a second chance this week and was disappointed again. The food doesn't taste good. The female bartenders don't know what beers they have so when you ask for something that they have on tap, the bartender needs you to basically spell it for them. Waitress service is very carelss. Someone said they now have a dress code!? What a joke. This palce is no more than a casual bar for beer drinking, with amateur food trying to be something it isn't and will never be. Also, because it is named Ladder 15 and is in an old firehouse I was expecting some kind of firehouse themed decor but instead they have rocks in cages and bad extra bright lighting that gave me a sun tan over dinner. This place is just confused.

Ladder Nailed It
Best place in this neighborhood by far. If your looking for good atmosphere, music and really good bar food this is your spot. I had the truffle flat bread, the wings braised in duck fat, and the tuna served on some sort of salt plate. GREAT looking crowd and very high energy. Very Cool.

Poor Service
The food is nothing special and the service is poor. The whole front of house staff needs an overhaul.

Hot Place
Stopped in for a drink during the afternoon and It was a very nice experience. The Barmaid was friendly and very good at her job. They will be seeing me again.
