Real italian
Excellent meal, excellent and courteous service. Seated on short notice. Seating is tight but the overall experience is worth this small inconvenience. Recommen a visit.

Felt like I was in Italy
wonderful sitting across from the kitchen watching the food being prepared It was the only table in this tiny South Philly gem a few blocks from our house. I wouldn't sit anywhere else and can't believe it took 7 years to finally try it. Fantastic prosciutto wrapped Asparagi with perfectly grilled shrimp and balsamic reduction. The lobster ravioli needed some other herb or flavor -- maybe a final rasp of lemon rind, but very good. The veal took a good pounding and was grilled on open flame. Neat, simple, delicious.

Wonderful Birthday Celebration
I was so fortunate to find L'Angolo on-line to host a family celebration for my daughter who is attending school in Philly. We were a large crowd in a small restaurant and the staff could not have been more accommodating. The food was terrific, I'm still dreaming about the artichokes! My whole family had a wonderful meal and my daughter will always remember her 21st Birthday.

Amazing Food
Authentic Italian restaurant in south philly with great food. The seating was a little tight but didn't mind it. The service was good and the food was amazing. I had the gnocchi's with shrimp which were homemade and delicious. After spending four months in Italy this is the closest authentic Italian restaurant I've been to in the states. Even the couple next to us (who just got back from Italy last month) said the same thing. I will definitely be back.

Love this place!
If you like BYOB's and live in Philly you must try this place. Excellent gnocchi and friendly, fast service.

Authentic Italian Food
I have been dining at L'Angelo's for several years now. The food, service and atmosphere are all phenomenal! I have been to numorous Italian restuarants in the city and I can without a doubt say that L'Angelo's is truly one of the best in the city.

Not Authentic Homemade Italian Food
We tried L'Angolo several times. The food is not bad, but it is not worth the price paid. The place looks decent from outside. The atmosphere inside is cozy. However, the food is not authentic homemade Italian. L'Angolo attracts a lot of suburbanites, probably most of whom do not cook Italian food themselves, or, who have not tasted authentic Italian food. L'Angolo is expensive considering the quality of food served, and lack of parking. It is located at the intersection of two, dark, inner city streets where there is no convenient parking nearby. There is no bar at this restaurant. They do not have a Liquor License. They tend to rush. It is not a relaxing restaurant. You may bring a bottle of wine, yet they tend to rush. If you are claustrophobic, this is not the place for you. Inside the restaurant it is narrow. It is tiny. It has a low ceiling. The tables are mostly all inches apart from each other, and the combined entrance and exit is through the side door which is adjacent to the hot, gas-fired ovens and just a few feet away from a few tables and chairs.
