Authentic Italian Food
I have been dining at L'Angelo's for several years now. The food, service and atmosphere are all phenomenal! I have been to numorous Italian restuarants in the city and I can without a doubt say that L'Angelo's is truly one of the best in the city.

Not Authentic Homemade Italian Food
We tried L'Angolo several times. The food is not bad, but it is not worth the price paid. The place looks decent from outside. The atmosphere inside is cozy. However, the food is not authentic homemade Italian. L'Angolo attracts a lot of suburbanites, probably most of whom do not cook Italian food themselves, or, who have not tasted authentic Italian food. L'Angolo is expensive considering the quality of food served, and lack of parking. It is located at the intersection of two, dark, inner city streets where there is no convenient parking nearby. There is no bar at this restaurant. They do not have a Liquor License. They tend to rush. It is not a relaxing restaurant. You may bring a bottle of wine, yet they tend to rush. If you are claustrophobic, this is not the place for you. Inside the restaurant it is narrow. It is tiny. It has a low ceiling. The tables are mostly all inches apart from each other, and the combined entrance and exit is through the side door which is adjacent to the hot, gas-fired ovens and just a few feet away from a few tables and chairs.

The Best of Philly
I have been living and dining in Philly my entire adult life (I'm 50). This is far and away, my favorite spot. I had my wife's 50th birthday party here and we go back for most special occasions. The gnochi may be the best food I've ever tasted. Don't forget to get a glass of lemoncello before you leave.

suburbanites discover south philly
Have patronized this place since it first opened. Excellent homemade pastas. Try the delicious artichokes as an appetizer. The mixed grill is pure seafood heaven. The salads are simple and good. Most of the desserts are made by co-owner Kathy. The waiter Nino is a charmer.

Fantastic
This is simply one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Small and cozy, it smells incredible from the moment you walk in. I have thoroughly enjoyed everything I've tasted at L'Angolo and the wait staff are courteous and professional, yet still fun. I can't recommend it enough!!

Simply Excellent
From the perfectly grilled calamari, the more-than-I-could-eat gnocchi, to the best I have ever eaten mascarapone cheesecake, this is a resaurant I will come back to. The service was attentive without being bothersome, and the time between courses was just right. The fact that it is a BYOB makes it even better, allowing you to leave with some money still in your wallet. Highly recommended.
