I arrived at 9:15pm, on a Wednesday, overall it was a pleasant experience, the food was mostly good, but again: I have an edge over most, I know the ingredients. The chips were fresh made - an impressive start. The problem was the salsa, the flavor was good - spicier than normal (therefore to MY taste and palate), BUT it looked like a tomato puree base. The cilantro was obviously fresh, onions, etc. - it was decent, but it detracted from the excellent chips. I ordered the enchiladas poblanos, and I have to credit them, the mole sauce was good. Not my mother's, mind you, but good, not too salty, the flavors were not overwhelming, although they poured a little too much on the enchiladas, made them a little soggy. The carnitas were appropriately spiced, and they used a good blend of cheese. The pico de gallo tasted fresh, and the avacados actually looked a little bruised in a couple of places: these were not canned. Also the lettuce was fresh, it didn't have that sweet preservative flavoring some places add to keep it phony-fresh. The rice wasn't spiced well, though, but not everyone knows how to made arroz. My first margarita tasted watery, though, which I found disappointing. I asked for better tequila for the second, which was definitely better, but still, even cheap tequila has a bite, the first one shouldn't have been a snow job to force me to upgrade. Last was the flan for dessert. This is a beef I have with a LOT of restaurants, what IS it with the GLOP? Flan is rich and flavorful, it is caramel, served correctly there should be a light drain of sweetness on the plate, WHY do restaurants ADD unnecessary goo? I wanted flan, not a bed of chocolate SYRUP, no less and a mound of whipped cream on top! The food is mostly good, they seemed to have taken a couple of shortcuts, but that may have been my late evening arrival, maybe I got the bottom of the salsa bowl, and the menu had some pretty interesting looking items. I will return - I just need to order my drink with good tequila to begin with.

This place is one of the best restaurants I have been to in philly. 5 stars all the way. Best part is, they are also on the cheaper side compared to others like it and the food is amazing. Hope it always stays this way

Stop the complaints about overcrowding, already. *** There is a reason that this place gets crowded. THE FOOD IS GREAT! *** If you don't like crowds, go between lunch and dinner, or on some week nights when you don't see the parking lot packed. Simple logic - if there's a line waiting to get in, IT WILL BE CROWDED, but the food will be good. If crowded restaurants bother you on a Fri/Sat night, then you will probably not like the food because of your attitude. If a restaurant is empty, the food will probably be bad. After 9 years of looking, my wife and I *don't even try* to find a better Mexican restaurant in the Philly area anymore.

I love the food here and drinks as well. I was there lastnight with my family but the lady serving us made my experience awful... Other than that it was great

Everything about this place is wonderful! By far, my favorite restaurant. Great atmostphere, food, and the staff is so pleasant.

Best seafood based dishes.renarkable carnera dishes. Exceptional drinks. Fantastic sevice. Unbelevably good prices. Bring several doggy bags you will eat well for the rest of the week. Highly recommended/aaaaa+++++
