i've been dining @ long's gourmet for 15 yrs. for apps, the blk bean mushrooms are amazing + the spring rolls are served piping hot. for dinner, the sesame chicken is my fav. why go to chinatown when the best chinese food is in the museum dist? :o)

We Love Long's!
My husband and I have been going to Long's for 10 years...we think the food is excellent (my husband's favorite is the Sesame Chicken with Lemon Sauce) and we love the steamed dumplings. It can get pricey depending on what you order, but you can taste the difference between their dishes and any old Chinese take-out. I must disagree with the reviewer who thinks that it's not "gourmet". Everything is very light, and they will adjust the level of heat in any dish. Check out their daily specials, they are very creative with their ingredients. When we go to Long's, we know that we're going to have a fantastic meal!

Really good chinese delivery
Loved all the main dishes-one step above the average delivery place. The only disappointment was the shrimp soup. Totally bland and tasteless (and a very small quantity).

Delish
Long's is very creative, and they rely more on herbs, the natural flavors of the ingredients, and the skill of the chef rather than on unhealthy MSG, additives and salt like most chinese food places do, and the flavor is exotic and exciting. Our faves: the shrimp wonton soup, the seafood fried rice, and their HANDMADE steamed dumplings. Yum, yum, yum!! I guess if you are used to chinese food loaded with grease and funky chemicals & MSG, you would think the food is bland (I just do NOT understand the poor review below from the person who said Long's was flavorless). Long's is Philly's best by far!

Really Good Food
I have been eating from this restaurant for approximately 4 years. I love the atmosphere and the service that you receive. I also enjoy that I am able to get vegetarian meals. What a wonderful place to eat and relax. The food is pricey. If I don't have to go home and cook then I am willing to pay the price for what I enjoy.

Favorite delivery
Long's is by far the best Chinese delivery in the area--great noodle soups from the lunch menu and delicious entrees. We like it hot so we specify a lot of our dishes "spicy" ("extra spicy" one time knocked our socks off). The Singapore vermicelli is much lighter and less greasy than other local variants, while the moo shu duck is flavorful and yummy. When we're in a fun mood we get the curried shoestring potatoes. Leftovers are great with some cheddar on top. If you like msg and sodium-ridden faux food like you find in a lot of delivery, Long's isn't for you...

No taste!
This place uses no spices or flavorings it seems. We could barely tell the difference between the dishes. Very expensive for the quality.
