Excellent All Around
There were only a couple of other people there when I went-it was middle of day during the week, so I wasn't sure it if was going to be good, but the food was phenomenal!

Excellent
We live quite close to the Manila Bay Restaurant and go frequently on Sat. nights. The food is delicious and the portions just right. The servers are charming and gracious. I highly recommend Manila Bay for those like us who enjoy authentic Filipino cousine.

Taste of the Philippines
I visited family in Philadelphia and everyone told us to go to Manila Bay Restaurant. Not sure why my family would take me to a Filipino restaurant when I want to taste something different. I was very surprised. Manila Bay is very cozy and we had a great time with the family. The servers were very friendly and the choices of food was excellent. It was very similar to what we would have back in Manila. Even the owner came over to chat and just to say hello. Typical Filipino, we enjoyed Karaoke and a few rounds with San Miguel. Now I know why many people take visitors to Manila Bay restaurant. Anyone who has ever visited the Philippines will enjoy the Manila Bay Restaurant experience.

Great find
I found Manila Bay by doing a search for Filipino restaurants in Philadelphia (my wife is part Filipino and we have enjoyed the food at her parents and at home). My family (wife and 3 kids) went early on a Saturday night . The person on the phone when I called for a reservation was very friendly and that warmness greeted us when we arrived and continued the entire night. It was not busy at first, but picked up as the night went on. Our server was knowledgable, prompt, courteous and helpful. The food (lumpia-Filipino spring rolls, spare ribs, 2 kinds of pancit noodle dishes, 2 kinds of adobo and all 3 desserts) were well made and nicely presented and were served fresh and hot. The prices are low (about $8-9 per entree) and the portions are sizable. We had not been to that part of NE Philadelphia before and were pleasantly surprised by the number and variety of ethnic restaurants in the area. It reminded us of Upper Darby where our favorite Vietnamese restaurant resides. While we will definitely be going back to Manila Bay, we'd like to try some of the others in the area as well. In summary. Manila Bay is a great restaurant with excellent service in a friendly (and kid-friendly) atmosphere. Highly recommended.
