    keep the brioche!

Love the change to brioche- you can keep the kaiser roll.

    Its a small great place

I love this place... pretty much the definition of a neighborhood bar and fits perfectly into the diverse Mt. Airy vibe... But... I have to agree.. BRING BACK THE KAISER ROLLS! We make it a point to tell the owner every time we are there to switch back.. Philly is a simple only-place-on-the-planet-you-can-get-it roll, b/c we all know the make-it/break-it of a sandwich is the roll, which is why Philly has great sandwiches... we'll leave the brioche for Chestnut Hill... Always a good beer selection, wings are the best in the city IMHO, and the Fish and Chip are also great... Service is friendly but can be slow, but that's ok.. if on a Fri/Sat night you want to dash in.. not gonna happen... if you want to sit with friends over good beer/food with a relaxed vibe in a diverse atmosphere.. perhaps get to know the folks sitting at the table next to you... this place is perfect...

    wings/specials

personnally i love their wings and find them to be consistant, both in price and quality..if you did by chance get a bad order you should have asked the waiter and explained..i would have...certainly they would have amde you a new order.. In regards to the specials, my husband and I go every friday and the special menu specifically is new every frisday with new apps and dinners..are you sure you were at this place?

    Way downhill

I used to really enjoy going to McMenamin's, recently food has gone WAY down hill. Wings are a waste, used to be good....quality is poor. Just ordered wings tonight, they were extremely small and most if not all the bones were broken. Not that I eat the bones but when you eat a wing and have to pull pieces of bone out of your month its not really enjoyable. I was going to order a burger, however they no longer carry kaiser rolls and the brioche they currently use is dry and lacking. Oh, and I havent seen the specials change much in months. Please bring the quality of food back. Until then i will be taking my business elsewhere.

    great food poor service

I'm a regular and even i have to remark about the sevice. if you aren't celebrating your birthday when you arrive, you may be by the time you are served! I suggest adding a separate dining staff. Pay the extra 2.50 an hour to get rid of these complaints. And I like the joint!

    Great Atmosphere

The beer and food are consistently great with prices that are a bargain when you compare to other similar establishments. What has always impressed me about this place however is the friendly customer base. Hang out awhile and you'll be sharing laughs with people you just met. Great place for big game days, or for any Eagles game for that matter. Service can be slow when crowded, but you'll never see the staff slacking.

Best Staff In the Known Universe.

The staff is always kept busy, so if you're going out to eat and expect service like you would find at a big chain restaurant, just shut-up and go to one of those. There are plenty of them, they are out by the mall (as if you didn't know). McMenamin's is a place to hang out and enjoy great food and a wide variety of quality beers. At the full service bar, an empty glass is refilled like magic, and you won't be pestered to pay up after each drink, something I haven't experienced anywhere else anywhere near Philly. The bartender we had was so charming and adorable, I just wanted to put her in my pocket, and that was after only one beer! It's a mellow, friendly place, where you can spend all evening. At a dining table, you will be well taken care of and will have a great experience, as long as you don't have anywhere else important to be. I don't know anywhere else on the East Coast where you can enjoy such a pleasant, laid-back atmosphere. The cook staff is spot-on. We found great choices from which my super-picky meat-eating dining companion could choose. There are also several tasty vegetarian options including a giant hummus starter, which would make any self-respecting Middle Eastern chef jealous. The only real problems are figuring out which beer to order next, and deciding if you're too full for dessert. Oh, incidentally, I don't recommend attempting to pocket any of the staff, bad idea.
