great food poor service
I'm a regular and even i have to remark about the sevice. if you aren't celebrating your birthday when you arrive, you may be by the time you are served! I suggest adding a separate dining staff. Pay the extra 2.50 an hour to get rid of these complaints. And I like the joint!

Great Atmosphere
The beer and food are consistently great with prices that are a bargain when you compare to other similar establishments. What has always impressed me about this place however is the friendly customer base. Hang out awhile and you'll be sharing laughs with people you just met. Great place for big game days, or for any Eagles game for that matter. Service can be slow when crowded, but you'll never see the staff slacking.

Best Staff In the Known Universe.
The staff is always kept busy, so if you're going out to eat and expect service like you would find at a big chain restaurant, just shut-up and go to one of those. There are plenty of them, they are out by the mall (as if you didn't know). McMenamin's is a place to hang out and enjoy great food and a wide variety of quality beers. At the full service bar, an empty glass is refilled like magic, and you won't be pestered to pay up after each drink, something I haven't experienced anywhere else anywhere near Philly. The bartender we had was so charming and adorable, I just wanted to put her in my pocket, and that was after only one beer! It's a mellow, friendly place, where you can spend all evening. At a dining table, you will be well taken care of and will have a great experience, as long as you don't have anywhere else important to be. I don't know anywhere else on the East Coast where you can enjoy such a pleasant, laid-back atmosphere. The cook staff is spot-on. We found great choices from which my super-picky meat-eating dining companion could choose. There are also several tasty vegetarian options including a giant hummus starter, which would make any self-respecting Middle Eastern chef jealous. The only real problems are figuring out which beer to order next, and deciding if you're too full for dessert. Oh, incidentally, I don't recommend attempting to pocket any of the staff, bad idea.

Bad Service, Good Food
Here's a place to get a tasty meal, and good brew, but only if you have an hour to spend per drink. They must lose alot of money because they never ask you if you want a refill. It takes forever for the food to come, and that's if you've actually had to a chance to place your order. I've been there when it was slow, and had just as bad service as on a busy night. If they could get better servers, they would make a lot more money!

Great pub food, wonderful atmosphere
The food is excellent and the atmosphere is pure Mt. Airy diverse, friendly crowd. I don't really understand the complaints about the service. The place is usually jammed but the servers run their butts off trying to accommodate you. They also get to know you by name if you go their regularly as I do. Great place to watch a game, hang out, or eat at their lovely outside patio in nice weather.

Good Beer, Sucky Service
If you like good beer, this is a great place. If you hate waiting for your beer, go elsewhere. The more they know you the longer you wait.

Solid...Defintiely NOT terrible!
Excellent craft brew selection. Very good food. Service sometimes slow but understandable for how busy it gets at time. Friendly, ecclectic crowd....Highly recommended, especially if you are a fan of craft brews...
