always packed
The food is very good here and the room is charming but quite small so the noise level is through the roof. Because it is so popular you can't avoid rubbing elbows with your neighbors.

A Neighborhood Gem
Melograno was a great experience for our party of five. We were warned to be there at opening and we arrived at 5:00 on a Sunday. We were seated immediately and by 5:15 ten of the eleven tables were filled. All of our party had a difficult time selecting appetizers and entrees. My wife said that she could have eaten dinner for a week at the restaurant and not have been disappointed. A stand-out for me was the mussels; done in a white wine and tomato sauce, I could have made a full meal from the broth and bread. Everyone at the table had to sample them. The salads were superb; the beet and goat cheese salad was a highlight. As for the entrees, the pasta, steak, and specials all delivered. In fact, there was not an aspect of this meal that was a disappointment. Even the serving of the wine that we brought with us was seamless. This is a restaurant to return to again and again.

The 3 M's: Mandoline, Mercato, Melograno
This is a popular neighborhood restaurant, pointed out to us by folks who live nearby. Everything we ordered was tasty. Prices were fair and service was friendly. It's a little cramped, but after our shakedown cruise at another restaurant we're thankful for any space at all. All of our fellow diners seemed to be enjoying themselves.
