ok,im from germany but whenever i was/am in philly (quite a cpl times!),i MUST go to mixx. the staff already know me by now-which is kinda funny,but yeah,what i wanna say is,they are very nice. and most importantly,the food IS YUM-oh!! for lunch the bento boxes are great (and look at them prices,man!),but all the rolls and sashimi have always been very good,too and ive ordered the menu up and down,so i know what im talking about. there aint no better sushi place than mixx. the atmosphere could be a lil better-its not a very "cozy" place, but since the food is great,i dont really care. not like i have to live in that restaurant,right? :) final note, prices are great,food is YUM period.

I eat sushi all the time, usually about once a week and I am a sushi snob, I have been to Japan several times and I'm a food snob in general. While this may not be the nicest sushi place in the city it is great for the price and a lot better than many of the other places out there that are more expensive.

Mixx is by far my favorite sushi place in philly. I love it! The fish is fresh, the rolls are original and the spicy sauce is great. Every month they change their special rolls so there is always something new to try. The Tasty Roll (on the regular menu) is amazing and when you are lucky enough to go when the Sunshine Roll or the Black Widow Roll are on the special menus its a real treat! LOVE IT!

I've never had an experience where there was too much sauce so I don't know what that reviewer is talking about. Its as simple as this. The fish is fresh. The rolls are great for any taste. The special rolls are unique and rotate so there's always something to try. PLUS, its so quick and affordable. On multiple occasions I've ordered takeout and its been ready in <10 minutes. The staff is friendly and they deliver all over the city. Almost too good to be true.

I just read some of the below reviews and I would like to know who these people are. The best sushi place in Philadelphia? Is that a joke? Mixx has great prices and its a byob, these are the only reasons to go here. If you don't know anything about sushi then that's one thing, but if you enjoy eating sushi at least once a week, you will not enjoy Mixx. Typically there is more spicy sauce then fish in your roll and the lettece in the salad is usually brown. If we have a group of 15+ for dinner I will still go to Mixx, but I could not believe the reviews below.

Trust me, or not. I've been to some of the best sushi restaurants in the world, and Mixx is, for a philly sushi place, the best sushi restaurant in Philadelphia. If you are looking for great service, (they are beyond nice) and truly fresh sushi... you must go to Mixx plus the value is unmatchable. Love Mixx!

I went here with a large group (13) for a birthday celebration and not only was the food and sushi delicious (as previously described in these posts) but also the service was very helpful and friendly. The 4 course meal and the bento box were a good deal another friend had the eel and rice entree - amazing! And the [select]ion of sushi options is almost overwhelming - I'm a fan of the spider and dragon rolls. They even surprised us with three pieces of cake on the house! A few of us have been back since and it's always the same: great service, great food. Overall a wonderful experience and now every time I have guests in the city, I'm sure to offer this restaurant as a dining option.
