    Good, but not great

If you want a hole in the wall sushi place, try 5N2 instead. 5N2 is cheaper and about the same quality. If you want better and do not want to burn a hole in your pocket, go to Tsuki on the other side of town. The fish is fresh here. It's just bland. The rice is just okay. I don't like places that feature "specialty rolls" doused in spicy sauce. I think that just hides the taste of the fish. My yellowtail scallion roll was very good. The shrimp tempura roll was doused with too much sauce. The Hulk roll was just a mushy mess. The nigiri was nicely made. I liked my squid nigiri. (Side note: I don't understand why so many Japanese sushi places are run by Chinese and Korean people. If I want sushi made by a Japanese chef, it always costs much more.) Maybe I'm spoiled, but I like Morimoto, Zama, and Fuji Mountain much better. Eating at these lower end places is like a teaser to me, not the real thing.

    Good place

Great sushi, always fresh. I've been going there and picking up for two years. Wont go anywhere else. I wish it was a little more crowded for atmosphere sake but always good.

    way overpriced for mediocre sushi

I so wanted to like this place - the new owners did a nice job on the renovation, opening the restaurant up to the street - AND they deliver and accept credit cards . The sushi was the quality of Whole Foods packaged sushi, however, and the prices were high - note that the prices for sashimi and negiri are per piece. There's just no reason to eat at Momiji unless you're desperate for sushi on South Street and don't know where else to go.

    Great new sushi place!

Went here with my mom over Mother's Day weekend after they first opened up and took advantage of the great deals on rolls... it was so great, we came back the next day. Good variety, everything tasted fresh, and the service was fantastic. The place is small, but it feels like a fantastic place to grab lunch with friends.
