    An unexpected surprise

My husband and I had dinner at Monsu tonight. It was totally unplanned and we could not be happier with our meal or our dining experience. The staff was helpful, friendly and accomodating. We had come from a Phillies game so were not exactly dressed for dinner. Despite that, the staff made us feel welcome and were very helpful. (even provided me reading classes to see the menu) They directed us to an ATM and made menu recommendations. We ordered the scallops appetitzer, which was delicious. We were treated to complimentary octopus appetizer that was very good. For dinner we had lasagna which we both enjoyed very much. Everything was very well presented. We can't wait to go back (next time properly dressed for a Saturday evening out).

Very disappointed! Sicilian cooking at it's poorest

I took my Sicilian father there for dinner. I can't believe I was fooled by the reviews. I know food and trust me I think Olive Garden might be tastier. The rice Aranci was the most disappointing thing I have ever had! I can't believe the chef let it leave the kitchen. The food was served room temperature. The entrees were slow to come out and the service was poor. The hostess was nice but that's not enough to make a restaurant.

    Fabulous Lunch!

This was our first time at Monsu. All I can say is, Get there in a hurry! Lunch was fabulous. The food was fresh, beautifully prepared, unique, and wonderful. They need to get more people in there on weekdays for lunch, so tell all your friends and have the lunch of your life!

    licked the plates

To start off, I just wanted to address how unfortunate it was for 'margie l, uneven and rude'. Maybe have another go at it, because I for one (and others for many more) have had an awesome experience all around with each visit. The half plates, when ordering a few for the table, were sharable, which is nice for tasting. Also, the staff really went out of their way to service us. Very satisfied. So much so we're going back tonight :)

    Triumph

Here we go again with another triumph for Peter McAndrews. And Damian too! Went early Friday with hubby and friend (excellent Italian cook in her own right) We knew what was in store. LQ almost had a cow at the selections. Service was above average, fast, and personal. THEN - tada - the food came. WOW. We loved our apps, the scamorze, and the octapus. Our secundi was unlike any other we've ever had and beyond delish. We had three deserts and shared. I was already a strong fan, now I feel the need to spread the word. Friend LQ bragged and bragged. For the quality the prices are superb. I'll see you at Monsu.

    Brunch Wed. - Fri.

As a big fan of Modo Mia, I was excited to try Monsu. Wow! I never knew a Tunafish Sandwich could be so wonderful. Can't wait to have dinner there!

    uneven and rude

The food was not as good as Modo Mio. Our calimari were a bit tough, the lasagna was too sweet, and the chocolate cake was also too sweet. It certainly didn't need choc syrup on it, and the powdered sugar was pretty, but too much of a good thing. Worst part was the waitstaff. Very strong presentation at first, wisked plates away and rushed us out. Not relaxing dining for a meal that we should have enjoyed more.
