The naysayers are all wrong!
I've been going to Morton's in Philly a few times a year every year, even when it was back on 19th and Cherry. This is a fabulous steakhouse. You people did order a steak, right? A porterhouse or filet, right? The portions are huge and the price reflects the size and quality of food. Ruth's Chris and The Palm pale by comparison. Butcher and Singer is okay. Barclay Prime if good. For my money, I'd go with Morton's every time. I think some of you complainers would like the all you can eat salad bars at Charlie Brown's instead.

sterile steak spot
Morton's steak is among the very best that I have tasted. The ambience is sterile, not as much fun as Capital Grille or as classy as Prime Rib. Best for a business lunch.

Strange place
Wife and I thought that Morton's would be a nice place for a birthday dinner. We knew it's reputation and chose it over other steak houses in Philly. We thought it would be a nice classy place...so we dressed appropriately ("business casual" was noted in description). Since when are t-shirts, jeans and buttoned shirts hanging out of jeans considered "business casual"? And what's with the guy eating his salad with the cellphone to his ear?? Atmosphere was definitely not there. Prime Rib was excellent and service was good...but the overall experience for the money was just not what I expected. I did expect more "class" for the money.

Not Up To Snuff
Clubby atmosphere and good service, with high prices and disappointing quality. Overall, a very poor value. You can do much better for steak in Philly.
