Some items great value, others not

I was attracted to this place by its small nature and some good things I had heard. The atmosphere was ok and the service was good, but my main complaint is the inconsistency in the pricing. I ordered the miso soup for a mere $1.50, and the sashimi appetizer with 6 slices (salmon, tuna, white fish) for $8.95 also a decent value but about average. Where I was stunned was when I ordered the Rainbow Roll as my main course for $12. At many sushi places, this type of special roll is very filling, often with 8 (and sometimes even 12) pieces. For $12 (by far the most expensive roll on the menu) at a low-price restaurant, I expected it would be more than enough. Imagine my surprise when a wimpy 6-piece roll came out, with minimal fish portion (one slice of salmon, shrimp, white fish, tuna) on top and a rather skimpy california roll underneath. $12 is the most I've ever paid for a Rainbow Roll and never have I been this disappointed! I wish I had read the review about good regular rolls before going there, as I would have ordered 2 or 3 regular rolls for the same price and been much more satisfied. I had to come home and eat a bowl of cereal!

    A good "standard" sushi restaurant

The "chef special" roll wasn't very exciting, but the standard rolls were excellent. Didn't seem THAT much cheaper than Fuji Mountain's posted menu (which is listed with four $s) but who knows how they judge these things. Two appetizers, four rolls, and one dessert cost $42. The choice of Brazilian samba music was odd, but the lighting and seating arrangements were nice. All in all we had a very pleasant meal.

    Go and enjoy

I have eaten there twice and have been very happy both times. They have three boothes with low tables so can you sit on the floor. Very cool and priced for anyone. To make their rolls spicy they add wasabi. I took a friend that does not like wasabi she found many other great choices and left very happy.

    I love this place!

This is some of the better sushi I've had in Philly. The place is really cute (downstairs, upstairs, not so much). The service is fast and very friendly, and the food is well worth the price. Moshi is perfect for a date or a quick dinner with friends. I would highly recommend it.

    Order the spicy scallops roll!

One of the best sushi establishments I've eaten at since coming to Philadelphia in 2003. he chefs have consistently produced great, fresh, robust sushi at great prices, though some of the original wait staff has left. he service is still pretty good, though not as friendly as it used to be. One bite of their sushi, however, and you'll be in heaven.
