After viewing the reviews, was very skeptical. But I was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent. The food also. So much of it I was stuffed and was able to bring home enough of the leftovers for another whole meal. They served cornbread muffins with strawberry butter, out of this world! A little close to other tables but everyone was so friendly, it didn't matter. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a delicious meal, plenty of food and great service.

A couple of friends and myself went to this restaurant on 10/4/14. We wanted to celebrate a friend bday. Upon arrival, the atmosphere wad quite nice, mellow mood. We were seated within 5mins of arrival. My friends and myself order our appetizers' and non alcoholic beverages. The price for sodas was 4$ and the price for their so called famous ice tea was 5$. Even with free refills this is pricey compared to other restaurants with their beverages being just as good. Anyway all of us ordered the fried chicken wings and 2 sides. About 10 minutes after ordering we were told there was no more chicken wings and they had some coming. We just decided to order something else off the menu because waiting for a waiter was long. We also had 2 appetizers that were taste less. The chicken wing had no flavor that I found to be odd for an up scaled soul food restaurant. Because our company was good, we sat, talked, laughed and most important remembered the real reason for going there was to celebrate a birthday. When the main entree arrived after one bit we all came to the same conclusion, one and done. We came, we ate and thought never again. We packed out entrees u, asked fir the check which was a whopping 138.00. We paid because when you go to a restaurant and don't like the food or service you still pay and chalk it up to the never again policy. We waited about 25 minutes for the check to arrive so do we can pay and leave. When you add up the wait time , the no more wings, the pricey non alcoholic drinks and the wait to pay your bill......it was not worth it, especially after driving from Delaware to come to this famous soul food restaurant. As I stated before for 4 people, all whom agreed whole heartily that this was not a place to visit again, I had to leave a review for others to know and possibly avoid the experience and disappointment with Ms. Tootsies Restaurant ad we did.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this establishment for dinner. I don't make it a habit of eating at soul food restaurants because why go out and eat what you cook! But this day changed my thinking altogether. Being greeted by the pleasant, young hostess was the first plus. The menu was typical to me but having heard that the cuisine was very good I put my pessimism to the side and placed my order with a very well healed waiter. When our beverages were served I was delighted with the ice tea, the best I have had outside of mine in years! Looking at the portions served to other tables we didn't order an appetizer and rightfully so. The entrees, smothered pork chops & the chicken wings were more than enough. Very well seasoned, cooked to perfection along with the sides we feasted as if we never had eaten before. Overall, I would highly recommend this eatery to all. Ambiance, service, atmosphere all the perfect formula for an enjoyable eating experience. Well done!!

40 minute wait to be seated. I was charged 4star $ for 2star food. Hadn't been here for several years. Total disappointment. Wanted ribs so i asked waiter how many ribs to an order. He replied 3. I said 3? He said yes 3. I said why only 3? Your charging $19.00 for 3 ribs&2 sides. He said well they are center cut. I said ok AND?! Anyway after that i opted for the smothered porkchops. Yes chops(plural)with an s. Figured i couldn't go wrong with there. Well they(yes 2)yay were very smothered. However quality was a no show. Also my sides greens along with mac&cheese were not hot & portion was probably jus an ice cream scoop worth. My son had the fried catfish. Said it was pretty bland. I'll stop here. Don't waste your $ or time. Obviously i won't be going back.

They are an appetizer but they are to die for next time I'm going to order three orders 1) for my appetizer, 1) for my entree, and 1) to take home. Highly recommend trying this item when you go.
