12 of my family and friends visted Ms. Tootsie's on 4/17/2011 for our 2:30pm reservation. We arrived at 2:15pm and we were greeted at the door and then escorted to a wonderful dining room of red and black leather very bright and roomy. We were greeted by our server Jason (very attentive), who took our drink orders after placing our menus, while the assistant was preparing our "ICE TEA" (5 stars), Jason without being asked brought each guest ice water with lemon, he noticed that we some of the guest sing and were on a tight time schedule since we were singing around the corner at 4:00pm. A number of guest asked for hot water with lemon so Jason brought extra cups in case anyone else in the party wanted a cup (attentive). As the party kept growing another server Rita came up and also started serving and taking orders (very attentive). Orders were coming out on a steady base, before we asked for anything it was there, (extra cornbread etc). Only one side item had to be taken back to be heated up out of 14 platters. This was my first time having the shrimp and grits and they were WONDERFUL! I asked for extra cheese and butter, not only was there extra in my bowl it was also brought to me on the side as well. Everything was wonderful and trust me we all will be back. Standing ovation to Jason and Rita!

I took my mom for her bday, along with some other family members about 2 weeks ago & we liked it so much, i had to take my aunt for her bday over this past weekend, since she missed out the first time! We had a very nice time & we especially enjoyed the bday song/entertainment provided to us!! Thanks Much!! We will be back, soon!!

I just came back from eating at Ms.Tootsie's. Before heading back to Harlem, NY we read a review that Pattie LaBelle wrote about this restaurant so we decided to go for brunch. We had a great time. The brunch was reasonably priced and the service was great. We had friendly waitresses and the buffet was awesome! We will definitely be back to eat for brunch again. We came at a great time, 12:30 P.M. on Sunday. We even got a tour of the entire establishment which was very nice. Ms. Rhona and the other waitress made our experience a lovely one!! You must stop by if you are in Philadelphia, PA!

I threw my mom's 50th birthday party here a few weeks back. I had a great experience overall. The guests are still raving about the food! The servers were awesome..especially the lead person Rona! The atmosphere was cozy and intimate and the seating was perfect. The staff was able to accomodate any requests that arised, and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. I think this is one of Phildelphia's top spots for private dinner-type events, delectable dining, and all for a great price! Highly recommended!

From the moment you enter, you are greeted warmly and professionally by Mr. Parker's staff. The ambience is welcoming...Decor elegant w/ warm soul. Bottom line, the food selections are varied and DEEE-licious. My sister and I will defin itely drive in again....Highly reccommend for couples or larger parties. One small critique--vegetables did not stay hot upon presentation. Kudos to Alianna for serving us in such a welcoming manner.

Great food, Nice atmosphere and good service. We got there early (4pm) as a way to avoid the rush of a sunday evening crowd. In a city short on good Soul food, This is a excellent choice.

I had never been here before for dinner, went with some friends. I had heard good things about this spot. I think this place is too small for the amount of tables. My table was in a corner, I sat on the outside with my back facing the walkway. I got bumped. Everytime the door opened we felt a burst of cold air. So far not comfortable at all. I hoped the food would be worth me being uncomfortable...it wasn't, I won't be going back and neither will my friends.
