Murray's

Went there on Sunday for a Corned Beef Special as Hymies across the way was too busy. Now I know why. May have been the most disappointing Corned Beef Special I have ever had. Cold, dry, and bland. I did not finish it and anyone who knows me knows that is a problem. The service was also spotty and aloof. Won't be back---ever.

I've been going to Murray's with my grandparent's since I was little and it has always had delicious sandwiches. Rarely have I been unhappy with the food. Prices are reasonable but the decor is badly in need of updating. Still I will go to Murray's every day of the week over Hymie's. Murray's recently did renovations and while they were closed my grandmother and I decided to go to Hymie's. Neither of us was satisfied in any way with our meal. I ordered a panini and the chicken was bland as well as the fact that there was a huge glob of goat cheese. My grandmother didn't fair much better. Her sandwich was oily and way to salty. I find the only plus for Hymie's is that it's bigger and updated. They can offer as much variety as they want, but if they can't even get a basic sandwich right, then to me it sure isn't worth a penny. Murray's has a good, solid, old fashioned deli menu and I know that if I want corned beef, I can go and it's going to be as good as it always has been.

I have been going to Murray's for a long time and have never had one bad thing here. My advice is to get the corned beef. Whenever I think of deli food, Murray's is the first place that comes to mind.

Great place to go for lunch. Yummy hot pastrami!
