Waitress hardly spoke, very rude. Food took forever to come out at least 30-45mins for their " famous" roast beef, the broccoli was overcooked and no free refills on soda. Last but not least, before I recieved my change from after paying, the waitress had the nerve to say to me " you do know we work for tips??" that had me really mad....

Basically a bar with bar food. Irish pub type cooking. The pizza is cheap and tasty but like frozen pizza from a box.

A friend and I were looking for an inexpensive place to grab lunch one day during our lunch break, and we stumbled upon Nick's almost by accident. The menu, which consists of mainly pub food and pizza, is simple and reasonably priced. My friend and I ordered a vegetarian pizza (which was the perfect size for 2 people), and it was fantastic! Our waitress was awesome, and the place, though a little dingy-looking at first appearances, is a great neighborhood dive. The bill for the 2 of us (it was just for the pizza since we both drank only water) was around $10, and we left stuffed and satisfied. If you want a cheap, delicious lunch, I highly recommend Nick's!

We’re from New Jersey and one of our Sons lives in Philly, well our Philly Son visited on Easter weekend. We went out to eat locally on Saturday but on Easter Sunday we decided to drive him Home to Philly early and have an early dinner in the City. We had no real plans where to go, so we took to driving around. When we saw how many tourists were in the city as witnessed by the packed tour busses we figured we would stop down by Penn’s Landing. We found on street parking at a meter and plunked in four quarters for one hours worth of parking and went for a walk. We were surprised to find that most of the eating places were closed (well it was a holiday and everybody deserves a day off), the few places we saw were a little too expensive (we weren’t looking for a full meal, just a late lunch). We were passing “Nick’s Roast Beef” and looked at the menu in the window, it looked like what we wanted, but I really didn’t want to eat in a Bar. At that moment a young couple walked out and asked if we were going to eat there, I said I wasn’t sure, they told us the place was nice and the food good, so we gave it a shot. We were immediately taken to a table in the back, the dining area was clean and there are TVs on the walls showing sports and news. We were waited on by Colleen who couldn’t have been nicer, I had a draft Yuengling (Philly Beer) and my Wife Cathy had Iced Tea, Cathy order a Cheese Steak with Wiz & I had a Roast Pork Italiano sandwich with Steak Fries covered in Gravy. Cathy said here Cheese Steak was very good, my Sandwich was interesting as well as good, it was sliced roast pork covered with sautéed garlic and spinach and provolone, on the side there was and au jus sauce, horse radish, and a small container of jalapeños & cherry peppers. We had all of this for $20.97, what a great price for a good meal in Center City. We will be going back here again soon.
