Old Nelson offers pretty good food really quickly. I definitely enjoy it there.

I work across the street from Old Nelson's and I probably get food there at least 5 times a week. Sometimes breakfast, sometimes lunch, sometimes both! Sometime before 11:30, I'll have a swiss, sausage, and egg bagel sandwich with coffee. I'll occasionally change it up with with provolone on a croissant. For lunch I shuffle between the selection of hot paninis, specialty sandwiches, and enormous subs. You'll notice avocado, roasted red-pepper, and honey mustard more than once on the menu. It that doesn't appeal to you the American Sub probably will. They are very generous with the fresh Boars Head meats. I always get the butternut squash and apple soup when it is offered. They offer two or three different soups each day. They are always packed at lunch time with a standing crowd that is served and cleared in under ten minutes. During peak times they have seemingly more staff than necessary but they work with great efficiency and the result is a great meal made quickly and consistently no matter who handles your order. In truth it seems like they are all handling each order in a sort of sandwich assembly line. I've heard other customers standing around say that they never get tired of Old Nelson's and I certainly agree. I should also mention that they have a wide selection of novelty, natural, imported, and otherwise high-end snacks including chocolates, cookies, chips, gummis and drinks.

I am always surprised at how quickly I get my take away order at Old Nelson, and like to dabble in the different menu options. Lots of choices for veggies too. They have 3 soup options daily (including a veggie / vegan one) - and you can get a roll with it - which is probably the best value meal you can get here. The rest of the foods are pretty averagely priced for a city take out.
