Authentic !
My family is from New Mexico, Texas and Arizona so I know Mexican food quiet well, this place makes me feel like I'm home with my family eating at the many great restaurants there. This place is great!

Not recommended
Used to come here regularly since my husband likes Mexican food quite bit. The food, to me, was adequate, nothing spectacular. Standard high-fat Tex Mex fare. The last time we went, I ordered the build your own burrito with a side salad. The burrito arrived barely lukewarm. I sent it back to the kitchen to be warmed up and they evidently set the whole plate (salad included) either in the microwave or under the salamander. I was then presented with a hot burrito and a pile of wilted, inedible salad greens. The server didn't even look at the plate before bringing it out to me. Haven't been back since.

Decent chain restaurant Mexican food
On the Border is exactly like Don Pablo’s or Chi Chi's, nothing special, just chain Mexican food. It was cool that you can build your own burrito though. Good nacho's but a terrible place to drink, the beer is ridiculously over priced. Service is adequate, but you will have to wait for a table on the weekends. Not a bad place to eat, I just like authentic Mexican food better.

Fabulous Mexican Food in my Neighborhood
I love Mexican food. They opened On the Border a few years ago, about 4 miles from my house and I go all the time. The carnitas (pork) is great as a fajita, or what they call a "Build your Own" Burrito (you get to choose all the fillings; my favorites? guacamole, rice, and black bean corn relish.) Also great is the selection of Mexican beers, and fruit margaritas.... mmmmm Strawberry.... :) Plus nothing in the menu is over $15 so it's super affordable. The wait staff is usually very friendly, (one or two problems in many, many visits.) Highly recommend. I think they got some Best of Bucks 2006 award too. So don't take my word for it.
