Wish it was on my block
Tiny sandwich and soup place, an outgrowth of Modo Mio, a really excellent Italian restaurant which is across the street from Paesano's. Modo Mio is amazing, but I can't often spend $40 on dinner. Solution? Paesano's! Sat at the counter and had the chickpea sandwich and the soup of the day, which was a creamy tomato and lentil. Soup was wonderful, sandwich was very good, they gave me some free coffee, and the whole meal was six bucks. Real and good food, made from scratch right in front of you, reasonably priced. What's not to like? Friendly service, too.
