Easily the best Indian restaurant in Philadelphia
Bar none, Palace at the Ben serves the best Indian food in town. Their panir and lamb dishes are especially excellent, and the portions are ample. The decor is sumptuous (excessively so, in my opinion), and the service ranges from attentive to, at worst, awkward. The prices are at the high end, but an open secret is that takeout prices are significantly lower (I'm talking a good 25%) than dine-in ones, for the same good-sized and high-quality food.

Ouragousely Over priced
Being an indian tempts me to go and try out new indian places for food. The food here was very good but the quantity you get is really really bad. The plates will be fancy but the price you are paying is for the food and not for the plates. They charge around $18 for a veg plate which can not be shared becasue the quantity is so small. Veg Biryani is not good at all. Their tandori roti was really really good. Overall I won't suggest anyone to go and pay $50 when you can get the same food in $30 everywhere else.

Superb variety and quality
We enjoyed a pleasant, relaxing, and speedy dinner at the "Palace at the Ben". If you request the owner, Mr. Manekshaw ahead of time, he could arrange Halaal/Zabeeha for you. When we called to make reservation for four families, we were greeted warmly and promptly, and our preferred date and time were honored. We had ample time to relax following our meals. You do not need to travel any more to New York or Iselin for superb and delicious desi (Indian and Pakistani) food.

Fantastic Indian Restaurant
Excellent food and service along with great ambiance makes this a one-of-a-kind Indian restaurant in Philly. Having tried various other Indian restaurants in and around Philadelphia, this one truly stands out. Also try the Sunday brunch - which was a pleasantly different experience with different menu items that will win you over.

Beautiful place and delicious food
Wow, what an incredible place. This is certainly the best indian restaurant I have ever eaten at. The decor is exquisite and very tastefully done--certainly, the most elegant indian restaurant I have ever visited!! The presentation of the food is very elegant and modern and the flavors are just magnificent. My favorites are the eggplant appetizer as well as the tawi special appetizer. For main courses, the saag paneer (spinach) was the best I have had in my life and the lamb rogan gosh was equally tasty. The presentation for the desserts were exceptional as well. We had a very nice bottle of wine from India. I think the sommelier from La Croix did the Palace's wine list as well. Overall, well worth the money and we will definitely be back multiple times!!
