Delicious food (especially the rice dishes), good portions (banchan included), helpful waitstaff, nice decor, reasonable prices. What more can you ask for? For my money, there's no better Korean restaurant in Philadelphia.

Pastoral/Jeon Won is probably my favorite Korean restaurant in Philadelphia. I'm especially fond of the hot stone bowl with tofu substituted for beef. The banchan are always great as well, and more than plentiful (usually around seven little dishes per visit). The servers are invariably friendly and attentive. The interior is attractive and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend the joint.

wasnt really impressed. much better korean in this town and much better prices. the miso was luke warm.. the soon du was very single dimensional. no depth of flavor.. only 2 tiny in shell shrimp and no noticeable other meat (advertised pork). only 3 banchan distributed. the kim chi was tasty though.. place was crazily understaffed but the waitress tried her best. wont be returning. rather go to the better places in the city. if you are limited to c.c. check out giwa, much tastier.

I've been going to Pastoral (aka Jeon Won) for years, and I remain a big fan. The dolsot bibimbap ("Kop Dol Bi Bim Bap" on the menu) is awesome, although it could use a little more tofu (you can get it with beef or whatever you like instead). Plenty of delicious banchan (including some of the best kimchi I've had) is, of course, complimentary. Service is exquisite, even when the place is really busy. Prices are quite reasonable. Milieu is warm and inviting, even when the place isn't so busy.

In the past year my love of korean food has blossomed. It all started in Philly. My first experience was at Giwa which was so-so. Since then I've eaten korean food all over the country including K-Town in NY and Santa Clara, CA. I still however, have not forgotten how wonderful the food was at Pastoral. Possibly, the best Bi Bim Bop I've ever had. Now that I've made my return to Philly I have high hopes to go there again! Their ban chan is also some of the best I've ever had!

This is a great place for traditional Korean Food. The food is consistently good and the service always relaxed and friendly. I particularly enjoy having lunch at this spot because it is never over crowded and is a great place to talk or even do some work over lunch. My favorate dish is Yuk Gae Jung, a very spicy traditional Korean Soup that really hits the spot on cold days.

I live a block away so go here often for dine-in or take-out. The food is consistently great, and the man and woman who work there really grow on you. Last week I was a couple of dollars short, and the guy just said- "Pay next time." So they're friendly- and great cooks!
