Stop the madness!
This place is seriously overrated. I have had better cheesesteaks at the Philly airport. I will NEVER go here again. The bread was not even soft and most importantly...the cheese wasn't melted and the meat wasn't even hot! Are you kidding me? Definitely not the King of Steaks;more like the Jester of Steaks!

My fav in the city
Whenever I think of eating a cheesesteak, this is where I go. Nice service too.

Extremely OverRated and Rude Service
We went all the way to find this joint since it was rated 1st on the Best Philly Cheesesteak in town and found out how "ordinary" their food is. We could have settled with Nathan's PhillyCheese Steak instead! Also, the service was extremely rude! If you dont know how to order the way they want you to, they dont treat you as nice as locals who do know how to order at the place. Also, I asked for a knife to cut it for my kids and the man replies to me very rudely, "We don't have knives. Who cuts a Philly Cheese Steak?!" Lastly, ordering can be very complicated and frustrating. If you dont order fast, they can seem really nasty and upset with you. Very frustrating, especially nothing taste extraordinary with their philly. In fact, the meat is very dry! Really over over RATED!!!

Tourist Trap
Native Philadelphians know to go elsewhere for a decent cheesesteak.

been there done that
Had quick visit to Philly. Decided to try a cheesesteak on our way out. Granted, I'm no cheesesteak expert so I didn't know what to expect, but figured I'd try 'the best'. I went with onions and whiz. The roll was good, the meat ok. It's made to order. There was some grizzle and hard to chew pieces of steak. It's a sloppy sandwich, but I'm guessing it's supposed to be, and I didn't have a problem with that. Overall it was a decent sandwich but nothing I'd ever have to revisit.

It Is the King
My friends and I have recently concluded a 43 stop tour of Philly Steak joints and after all of them I have to say we all love Pat's the best. We all did extensive research at our culinary school library and a real cheesesteak is NOT MADE WITH AMERICAN OR PROVO. Don't waste your time going anywhere else (btw Geno's ranked 17th on our list). Get a birch beer and a steak and enjoy.
