    very good

I love it here! i don't know what some of these people are talking about. msg? thats odd considering you can watch them cook the food, and i have never seen a shaker of it come out. Also it's fast, the plates are generous, and it is rather authentic. I don't know where the gimmicky part comes in... i would suggest it ! I think the curry chicken is awesome ! so is the Panang poh pai (sp) the malaysian spring roll. and of course lot's of other things. and of course there are tons of other great restaurants in the area but this is malaysian, not chinese soo ..

    Disappointing meal

Had high hopes for this restaurant, recommended by friends and guide books. Food was way too salty, and too much MSG in it. Just thinking back about it make my blood pressure shoot up.

    Best in Philly

Anyone who love authentic Malaysian food will love Penang. A friend of mine born in Malaysia once told me that it was the most authentic Malaysian good she has ever had (outside of Malaysia of course). Honestly the only bad thing I can say about Penag is that they don't take reservations, so if that's a requirement, you'll have to try somewhere else.

    Snobitorium

This is just a wannabe upscale joint. The food isn't special unless you get excited about gimmicky modernist tidbits. I suggest you go to a real Asian restaurant instead of this trendy attempt.

    Good quick dinner spot

We popped in on Saturday night and were seated very quickly with tea for us to share! We had servers quickly approach us to see if we were ready to order. We needed more time and they kept returning. We both decided to share the beef satay (yummy) and then we ordered the Mango Chicken and the Mango Shrimp. Although it was tasty, it was a bit sweet and was almost all mango. I got the cocnut shrimp rice and that was awesome. We will go again because it was a funky decor, the service was fast, and becasue there were so many other choices that sparked our interest. I think our bill was $45 before tip and we did not have any drinks other than the tea.
