Ok BBQ for the NorthEast part of the country
The food was ok. The chef was mildly creative with the Mac & cheese as well as the pickles & onions with the ribs. The sauces were ok, loud but not subtle or complex. Baked beans were probably the best. Overall, it was ok considering we don't live in the South. This place wouldn't survive a week with that level of completion.

Yum!
Not sure why folks complain about the portion size - There is always PLENTY and I always have leftovers despite how delicious the food is. The Mac and Cheese is the best in the city, the beer list is exceptional, and the barbecue, ribs, and chicken are packed with smoky flavor. Love the atmosphere, fantastic service, love to bring friends from out of town here.

BBQ in an outdoor country atmosphere
atmosphere: one large room with a high ceiling lit by lots of naked bulbs and the pew and picnic table seating with a red and green room color scheme and countryish music gave the place an outdoor country Christmas feel. The noise of even a small crowd reverberated around the room. The staff bolted paper towels to the table and left a quart jar of tap water and 3 BBQ sauces. service: was helpful and fast food: The house sauce was ketchup based with a hint of pepper, the sweet sauce was dark with sugar and slight molasses notes, the hot sauce was untried. The chopped brisket sandwich with pickle chips and onion was sloppy joe like in consistancy and taste. When asked the server said that the fries and cole slaw had a unique ingredient or two but both tasted ordinary to me.

Left hungry
We had the Lockhart and left hungry. Food was good, nor great just good, portions were way to small, seriously my 4 year old could have eaten the Mac and cheese by himself..they called it a portion for four! Nothing like spending over 100 bucks for dinner and having to stop at Wendy's on the way home... Either reduce the price or give bigger portions.

Excellent!
My hubby and I were dying for good barbecue, especially after seeing all the shows on the Food Channel. We tried Percy St. this past Saturday afternoon. Everything about it was excellent - the staff was friendly, but not overbearing; the food was excellent; and we loved the extensive beer selection. We definitely would recommend this place to everyone.

The best BBQ in Philly
This place has the best quality BBQ in Philly. It's the only place that even comes close to the BBQ I had in Houston. It is a nice family restaurant and not a roadside stand, so prepare to pay accordingly.

Overpriced
Very nice room, friendly attentive staff and good food but...the turnoff is the REALLY small portions which are very overpriced. Not enough bang for your buck at this place.
