Olde City is the luckiest part of town
we all know that Olde City has been really down in the PR dumps lately with last month's Philadelphia magazine's narrative about how its where "Jersey Shore goes to throw up". Well, there is a glimmer of hope, my friends.... PBR hits high notes on all accounts - open and airy atmosphere, outstanding beer selection, easy location.....and then there is the menu.. WOW. I dont know how you get bar food with a layer of fine dining mixed in, but they've done it. After tasting everything they have on their currently limited menu, I have to say there are nothing but gastro geniuses in the kitchen!!! My faves: PBR Burger (OMG!! Dont listen to the stupid hype about the diner style! Its soooooooooo goooooooooood); Fries are to die for!!; Wings - crispy as promised! Which is surprisingly hard to come by - and tasty too!; Scrapple Cheesesteak (this is a heavy weight, you may want to share with a friend! But only your BEST friend!!) Everything was scrumtralescent, but those are my personal favorites. I will make a note to be back in the latter part of October when they roll out the full menu!! If this is what their testing taster menu is - I CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT COMES NEXT!!! GO THERE - GO THERE NOW!!!! :) Forget the diet!
