Great restaurant
This restaurant is one of my two favorite mexican resaurants outside of the San Diego area. No where else have I had food that I felt was as "authentic", simple, fresh and delicious. The "Gringa" dish is awesome. Geat food, Geat service, No atmosphere; BYOB! What more could you want?

I love this place. Don't let the decor throw you off. The food and service are fantastic and worth the trek.

One of the best
Plaza Garibaldi and the tacqueria across the street were the first in the wave of Mexican restaurants that opened in South Philly around '01/'02. The food is excellent with huge portions (try the alambre or the queso fundido con chorizo appetizer), the crowd is a cross-section of South Philly and the decor is an exercise in kitsch that's begging for a velvet Elvis. Just go.
