    Missing Q!

I was so saddened to hear that they are now closed. I couldn't believe my eyes when I walked by just a few days ago. Always a good hot spot with great food and cool drinks. Always seemed to have a good crowd as well (both indoors and outside), so I'm not sure why they closed. Q had some of the best Southern fare in the city! I will miss the shrimp and grits, and I will miss this place...

    Old City Gem!

This spot is fantastic. Sit down or grab quick takeout- no matter what we have always had great meals here. Love from all the locals

    Awesome AGAIN!

We come into the city 10 times a year and this has become our favorite place to eat! We brought a friend from New Orleans to show off the best of our city! (Welcome to the Liberty Bell C.L.) The food was GREAT! The Specialty drinks were GREAT! The beer was a Great selection but as we noted in January... it just isnt cold? Why isnt the draft beer cold? The service is consistently poor! The waitresses are uninformed. Nice enough but they just are not in a hurry and not enthusiastic about the resuraunt. As I noted in 2010 the bathroom is a nightmare and has gotten worse. The celing has large brown spots of some scarey leakage and the bathroom doors dont come close to locking or closing. We love this resturant and pray that it doesnt close due to the poor service and bathroom filth... what a terrible way to loose a great place to eat! Bathroom clean up is as simple as it gets!

    REAL Southern BBQ

We stumbled onto this restaurant last weekend while downtown. Full disclosure - I'm from TN, live now in the Philly area, and have been disappointed I haven't found ONE real Southern-style BBQ place north of Baltimore. They use hickory wood to smoke the meat which is the traditional method in the Southeast - you could smell it outside - My first thought was "this is promising". The pulled pork was 'real' pulled pork - smoked and NOT awash in sauce - they even put cole slaw on the sandwich which is what the local Southern BBQ joints do. Their ribs came dry which is how they're traditionally served east of Memphis - they were outstanding. I HIGHLY recommend the cheese grits - hands down the best I've ever had - including my own. The service was a bit slow but the owner came out, sat with us and was a very nice man. If you want REAL Southern barbecue, try this place. We will be back.

    MUCH BETTER than expected!

After reading various reviews on Menupages, Urbanspoon, and Opentable - I was a little nervous about trying Q BBQ. I love BBQ and especially ribs. I would not consider myself a BBQ snob, but the ribs have to be tasty and fall off the bone. The various reviews detailed Q's food as mediocre at best and gave it less than stellar reviews in terms of service. I made a reservation on Opentable for 7:30pm on a Saturday. We were promptly seated and our waitress took care of us immediately. I ordered a combo platter with ribs and brisket (you get a choice of one side) and I chose baked beans, but also ordered a side of mac and cheese. My fiance built his own burger. The food came out within 15 minutes and it was really good. Were the ribs as good as Percy's or Smokin' Betty's - no. However, they were good and the baked bean and mac and cheese were AMAZING! My fiance loved his burger as well. In sum, I thought Q was so much better than the reviews made it out to be. We will definitely be going back!

bbq lover wants this place to succeed

Food: Ribs had a dry rub and were OK. Cobb salad did not have much meat or cheese and not very fresh with no choice of dressings. Grits and fries were OK. There were three types of BBQ sauce on the table. The sweet was thick, smoky and sweet. The Q was peppery and moderately thick with an off odor that I did not like. The vinegar was thin and sharp. Service: The waitress took the time to explain food options. There were not enough napkins and no spoons on the tables. Decor: Was slightly dark with gentle jazz music. The place appeared clean but there was an occaisional annoying fly My thoughts: I rarely review restaturants but because I love BBQ I want to see this place succeed. I loved the sweet sauce and will return again to try it with the brisket and pulled pork and chicken. The waitress said these came with the Q sauce and that I had to order them done with the sweet sauce instead when ordering..

    Great Barbecue in PA

The Beef Brisket was very good but the Pulled Pork was fantastic. The Q sauce was very good also.
