Great spot, easy to find. We traveled all the way from Brooklyn, NY. The service was great, we were greeted with a lovely conversation from one of the manager Jen. The food was pretty amazing. We even had their master desert.

It's a lovely restaurant and the food is OK, but if you're going to spend that much on a fancy expensive meal, there's plenty of better choices. It's just nothing special.

R2L is such a welcome restaurant to the Philly scene. The atmosphere is amazing. There really is nowhere else with a view like the one from R2L. I've eaten there two times and the food has been wonderful and consistent each time. The servers were responsive and attentive. The bar is also a big hit for Philly. The lounge area is so seductive and a great place to relax and enjoy. I am looking forward to going back for another great meal soon.

Love R2L but...OMG-We ate dinner at MidAtlantic last night and had the best meal. We hadn't eaten there in a while because we usually aren't in that part of the city but now I would make a special trip to go there. We ate outside which was lovely on the first cool evening of the summer! Our service with spectacular...as good as any 5 star restaurant and all of our meals (there were three of us) were outstanding. We had the chicken which was juicy and served with wonderfully prepared veggies and hamburgers were perfectly prepared (medium rare) on homemade rolls. The bread basket was filled with more delicious homemade bread and biscuits.

R2L has the ambience of a hip NY supper club. The view from 37 floors above the city is stunning, though it is difficult to get a window seat unless you have an early reservation. We had the raw oysters with horseradish ice cream, salmon and wild striped bass, and the sour cream and walnut apple pie for dessert. The food was of good quality and the salmon (R2L style) is a good buy at $22. You can skip the horseradish ice cream on the oysters--it lacked bite and cost an extra $3. The bread is excellent and baked in-house, as are the desserts. The service was excellent. Loved the jazz style music on the sound system, which unaccountably changed to dreadful techno adfter 10 PM. Worth a try, even for the bar/lounge which unlike most Philly spots, stays open until 1 AM.

Have eatten at r2l several times and love it! Love the salmon and chicken for the main course but don't miss the truffle pizza or risotto balls for first! All of the desserts are worth going off your diet and the bar scene has a great vibe.
