Hidden Secret
For more than 10 years this has been my crutch in many ways. With so many places to choose from and a new ones opening everyday it seems I find myself veering back to Race St regularly. Solid, dependable and sometimes surprising ... like that person in your life you take for granted ... its a great place to meet or make an old friend, have a impromptu late night dance party or get cozy in a quiet corner by the fire. The staff? Think Cheers - they know they're regulars and are always happy to see them. They're friendlier than most and long tenured, a testement to owners Neil and Stacy, it all starts with them. Kudos. And not to be left out, the beer selection. Frequently overlooked and highly underrated by the beer snobs, I have always found more than enough to choose from. And this is where the bartenders are great ... they know my favs and have my steady ready but will also challenge me with what's new. So, go grab a stool and introduce yourself ... you won't be disappointed. Well maybe at first, but keep at it, they'll warm up to you. Tipping helps(ToInsurePromptService).

Best Bar Food Hands Down!!
Never a bad meal. Great cozy atmosphere. Perfect in both winter and summer. Amazing specials.

Best American Eats in Old City...
One of our favorite places to eat mainly because it's right around the corner. Always a good rotation of unique drafts and interesting micro bottles. Straightforward menu but good grub - great burgers, the buffalo chicken sandwich is great, their meatloaf (when they have it) is spectacular. Nowhere better in Old City to grab a bite for cheap.

Simply the best
Amazing. Great atmosphere and music. Always good beer on tap. Chris, Mark and Vanessa (so sad she's not here anymore) are top notch. I have never been disappointed by an entree here and everyone I've brought to this spot has been delighted as well. It's my favorite place in philly!

Great food
We ate here for a work lunch w/about 20+ girls. I'd say given the fact that they had some 20+ women yacking away the service and the food was pretty good. The burgers are very good - just make sure your order them well-done otherwise they are pretty rare. The nacho chips with chili are to die for - and I'm not a chili person but have gotten them the last two times I was there. The staff is friendly and very accomodating and did their best to make sure our lunch was ready. Would go there again.
