Mystery Meal
After ordering from this restaurant for several years, we were fairy satisfied in spite of the weekly mix-ups and their failure to repeatedly forget to send the brown rice we paid for. However, the last order we placed with them will be our LAST. Ordering a spring egg roll, they send a shrimp egg roll. If a person has a shellfish allergy, that type of mistake could be life threatening. I ordered the steamed chicken and broccoli with brown rice (of which I paid extra for) and not only did I not get the brown rice, but the meat was unrecognizable! My brother, who is a retired butcher, could not even identify it! It was dark and layered and looked like it had been soaked in soy sauce. When I called them back they argued it was steamed chicken. Unless you like poor service and mystery meat, find another restaurant.

Great first experience
I wanted to try something other than Grand China which was my default. The last time we got food from there it was very bland. I decided to give Rich City a try and I'm glad I did. They were very friendly and polite on the phone, I also love that you can order online and pay with a credit card (a service I have not yet used). The hot and sour soup had black mushrooms which is something I haven't seen in years. Excellent flavor texture and heat I recommend the soup while winter is still here. Had the pork fried rice and shrimp lo mein, both good, the spring rolls were crunchy and not too greasy. The star was the eggplant and garlic sauce. I usually just order the usual to play it safe but I will be more adventurous now that Rich City has gained my confidence. I have found a new chinese delivery place and glad for it.

Only one in Philly for me.
I was sad about the state of Chinese takeout in Philly, but now I am thrilled- and I moved here from New York! I think this place even has places in NYC beat. Amazing. And the people are SO sweet.

Oh, Rich City, the things I would do for you!
There's really nothing better than Rich City. Fresh produce in the food, fresh preparation, fast delivery, and the tastiest, most flavorful Chinese food I've ever tasted. Some things are a tad pricey, but it's still pretty cheap overall. The happiness in my life increased dramatically when they extended their delivery area further into Center City- It makes any bad day perfect :)

The best Chinese takeout
I've been ordering from here for years. It's consistent (very important) and the ingredients are a high quality. Even the chicken is safe to order .... none of those strange flabby pieces that may or may not be chicken. (I always specify white meat ... maybe that's why?) Delivery is always very quick (less than 30 mins, and I live about 14 blocks away) and the food is always tasty. A few faves: szechuan string beans, teriyaki beef appetizer, the shrimp and scallop special with mushrooms and zucchini, and the hot & sour soup.
