I hadn't been to Pesto in several years and was motivated to go back due to a gift certificate. My friend had one of the evening's Specials - black linguinni with shrimp, mussels and crab in a light tomato sauce. I had a menu staple that I hadn't tried before - chicken breasts in olives in lemon sauce. For dessert, we chose homemade marscapone cheesecake with blueberries. Everything was fabulous and servings were huge. It's a BYOB and that kept our tab low. I've dined at many Italian restaurants in Philly over the years and Pesto remains at the top of my list.

The Best chocolate cake ever. The fettichin i alfreado was the best ever. It was the perfect consistency for a cheese sauce. The waitress was very ettentive.

Lets start with a reservation for 8:15pm not seated until 9:15pm and the staff brushed it off as if we were privileged to just be there. Our server was in a rush from the beginning and did not even take the time to go over specials in detail and seemed annoyed when asked to elaborate. Finally we decided on the shrimp wrapped in bacon and croissant, tomato salad and fried calamari, for appetizers. The shrimp was soggy and the tomato salad more of an onion salad although the fried calamari was excellent. For our entrees we ordered the Linguine with Lobster and shrimp and also the special which was cavatelli's with lobster and shrimp which were both almost inedible . The servers continued to rush us and would not open our wine as we sat there not even eating then brought desert that I wouldn't feed to a cat or dog let alone serve to people. The experience was awful and not worth the outrageous prices. Two thumbs DOWN.

took my boyfriend to pesto's for his birthday dinner. we were the 1st seating of the night..the waitress told us the specials with her arms folded & did not look us in the eyes at all. the bread basket came with cold italian bread & corn bread. who ever heard of corn bread at an italian restaurant.. his comment to me about his calamari was the same as the frozen package you can by at bj's. the waitress was so lazy she didn't even place the plate on the table, she handed to him across the table..my portabello w/ crab was drowning in sauce. couldn't taste the food with all the sauce.. when the entry came the waitress also handed this plate across the table to him..she didn't walk around the table & place it on the table like a waitress should do.. i was very disappointed & i felt really bad for taken him to this restaurant. for his birthday..thank you for ruining a special occasion..i NEVER not tipped a waitress before..tonight was the 1st time..the service was the poorest i've ever had..

We were here for SIL 50th BD. Staff could not be better! Owner attentive, came by to see how we were. Drinks well made and my dish out of this world. Veal dish similar to saltimbocca. Pasta specials were good. Brichole apps excellent. Of course, no one ever gets enough seafood on plates for price any more but overall good serving.

My husband and I visited shortly after they opened.........we didn't like it then and we didn't like it during this summer when we gave it another try. The mussels AND claims in his dish were extemely tiny...........a joke when you consider the outrageous price of the dish for hardly any seafood. My pasta dish was also very bland.........never again!

Pestos used to be our favorite restaurant but, "never again". The last 2 times we were there, the food was very bland. We are advising our family that we don't want any gift cards for Pestos ever again! Now we know why the place was so empty!
