a night in pesto
The food was good, but it was a Saturday evening, along with a birthday party, so the service was slow. If your looking for a South Philly atmosphere it's here. We all felt for a byob it was a little expensive. I would return and try it again, if my pocketbook allows. To be absolutely honest the owners realized how slow it was and sent some mussels to the table. They were good.

best italian in philly
This is Philly's best italian restaurant, hands down for food, service and value! I have been coming here for years and tried others and still nothing compares. By now I must have sent over 50 people( people even having their own private parties here) , and everyone thinks this place is outstanding! The Eggplant Rollatini is the best and all specials are incredible.

overrated
Best bet is the grilled lamb chops. Most of the other entrees are coated with cheese to mask sauces that look like they come out of a pouch. Large portions for those who have that as their main concern.

Hard to beat
Very good food, decent prices, outstanding atmosphere. Lamb chops will curl your toes.

Chains are better
What a disappointment, the food tasted below chain quality. They start by bringing out carrots marinated in balsamic and potato salad. Just weird! The food was below average. I ate more authentic food at the chain, which is sad to say. Overall plain food.
