Name should be Rude not Rouge
I found the waitstaff to be incredibly rude and pretentious. The food was not all that great, and I found the small portions of the expensive cheese plate to be ridiculous.

Not all it's cracked up to be
I have been hearing tons of great things about the famous "Rouge Burger" so I decided to finally go try it last night. I was very disappointed. The burger was dry first of all. Not enough cheese and there were about 3 small pieces of sauteed onions on top. Not to mention I paid $16 for it! I would go back to Rouge for the atmosphere but definitely would not get the burger again. If you want a truly great burger, go to Good Dog!

trendy and overrated
Rouge is really two places: the inside, deep in the corner is where they stick older less hip looking folks. Outside, the trendy set watches each other while they pick on their food. Burgers are the best bet here. Entrees are expensive and small portions. Used to have soft jazz in the background which has been supplanted by loud electronic noise, that clashes with the ambience.

the best place to eat, drink, have fun..
I have been going to Rouge for more than 3 years and I am always happy with everything this place has to offer. I agree that the food is a bit overpriced however, to my understanding, everything on the menu is made from fresh, organic ingrediants and that cost the money. Service is excellent. They all have a story to tell and are very friendly to all the guests. I am sure there are exceptions but considering the fact that they work long hours and have to deal with so many diferent personalities, they are doing a great job! Locations is perfect and if you wanna go out to dine and hang out, to see and be ssen, Rouge is your choice!

Overpriced with poor service
Rouge offers beautiful scenery right off the Square. It was a shame that the service and food did not live up to expectations. The hostess and waitress were quite short and made it apparent that their only concern was turning tables. Perhaps this was simply an off day for the staff, though it was close to the worse service I have ever experienced. The food was enjoyable, but you will pay for the view of the Park. Expect to pay $16 for a burger or $18 for a cheese and fruit tray. Combine the price with the poor service, and I would not recommend this restaurant or care to return to it.

Best place on the park
The food and wine are pretty standard but the real draw is the killer location. Coupled with a cool vibe and easygoing wait staff, and you have a place that's always a good time. Whether it's for lunch, brunch, dinner or drinks, I never seem to tire of this place.

Rouge Review
The inside of Rouge at night is dim yet easily navigable via the island bar which sits center stage and a large open window that’s open weather permitting. Since the Gods were with us, we opted for that creamy euro feeling and took a table (which are ample) on the sidewalk overlooking the park. Even though I was mildly under dressed in comparison with the rest of the patrons, I didn’t feel any hesitation wearing a Cubs t-shirt among the sea of black/black and button downs. It even drew a salute from a couple that noticed my shirt on their way out of the restaurant. The staff were excellent. I don’t say this lightly either but each employee we encountered had a sincere familial charm about them and our waitress was keen to each stage of our dining experience. Nice beer selections as well. Chimay and Yards make the cut in this quiet storm atmosphere. For dinner, I had the dry aged rib eye topped with a cheese cream and accompanied by several giant onion rings (which seemed to be cooked tempura style). The meat was fantastic with the cheese cream though I did end up with a decent amount of fat upon finishing. My lovely lady friend had the buffalo steak with tomato quarters drizzled in olive oil and basil. In hindsight I would’ve chosen her selection in comparison with my dish because the buffalo was a leaner cut and there was nothing inedible about it. I believe the onion rings can also be ordered as a side to create an all around winner. With two beers and two entrees our bill came out to be just under $100. Bottom line, a spring day in Rittenhouse Square combined with dining at Rouge is a can’t miss.
