Thanks to a gift card for our 40th anniversary, my husband and I got to finally dine at Rouge last evening. While making reservations I mentioned we were celebrating and would like a nice table. Before dinner we joined a very friendly group including the bartender and enjoyed some delicious cocktails. We were seated at a lovely window table and had an excellent waiter. Our dinner was delicious though I requested my ceviche to be brought back and made a little less spicy. ( a quirk old people have)! They did so without a word or look. Later they brought us complimentary drinks and dessert for our anniversary. We had a wonderful experience and will happily return. Thanks to all .

I recently went to Rouge with my boyfriend and found the service to be sub par. We waited 15 minutes to order our first drink and ended up ordering our food at the same time. The food was good and we would have stayed for another drink had we not thought it would take so long to get. Oh did I mention that the couple seated long after us but right next to us was finished at the same time. I left a comment on the restaurants web site with but received no response.

My friend and I had lunch: me a burger, she a salad. The food was good--we knew it would be a bit overpriced but felt it worth being able to sit outside on such a beautiful day. However, before lunch we each ordered a glass of wine: A HOUSE Merlot and a Cabernet. The large wine glasses were filled to a third...about 4 oz. We ordered second glasses of wine during lunch. Our bill, including tip, came to $102.00 ($51. each) for a burger, a salad, and about as much wine as one would serve themselves in one glass. RIP OFF indeed

This place was so much better in it's early years. It's gone downhill in service and everything else since Neil handed ownership over to his daughter and son in law. I stopped going. The food is still good but that's it. No attention to detail, no passion. Sad. There are plenty of better places to dine and enjoy the square on 18th street now.

Yes it's pricey and yes if you act like a douche you might get a bit of an attitude but this place is fantastic. I've never had anything that isn't delicious and the service is spot on for the most part. Very informed staff and I've never gotten the feeling that I'm so uncool that they stick me in a back corner. The best seat in the house is on the short stools at the back of the bar anyway.

I have been in love with Rouge for years! It is by far the best restaurant in the city. It offers great food , drinks and atmosphere. To those that talk badly about servers: Just because you spent a lot of money when you went there, You should have not expected a server ( human being) to make the magic happen. I have seen many patrons in there being extremly needy and rude to their servers so they just got it back... If you go there becuase you want to enjoy your cocktails and food, you will love it! If you go there to show how imprtant you are and act up in front of the staff you will be emberrased!:) Rouge rules!!!

I found the waitstaff to be incredibly rude and pretentious. The food was not all that great, and I found the small portions of the expensive cheese plate to be ridiculous.
