Amazing!
The food at Royal Pizza is amazing. I never fail to fill my belly when coming here. Whether I have the Pizza Steak, the Stromboli's, the wings, or the actual pizza. This place is far better than Larry's Steaks and Tony Luke's. And the service is more personal because it is family owned and operated rather than being a part of a chain. Being the Amoroso man who delivers this place I know for a fact that they use the best rolls they can.

university city's best
This is by far the best pizza place in the college area philly has to offer but the best thing on the menu isn't the pizza as odd as that might sound. Over my 6 years in college this thing frequented my speed dial and I have sampled their entire menu. Mega fries are heaven in a pie tin. Its hard to finish one in a single sitting it is the best cheese fries ever ever. The cheese steaks are brilliant specially what they do with the buffalo chicken cheese steaks. A large cheese steak is enough to feed two average college students. While it doesn't look the greatest from the outside the food quality and quantity for the price are unmatched in the area.

When I went to Penn 30+ years ago, Royal Pizza had the best cheesesteaks in the neighborhood. Haven't been since but I'm glad to see it's still there. (Best food deal for starving undergrads in the day however was Troy's in Hamilton Court. Loved the double-slap of meat loaf...)

Fantastic Pizza
This is so far the best crust I've had in University City. I'm lucky to live only a block away from Royal Pizza. I agree with the previous reviewer: Don't be put off by how it looks on the outside. It is family owned and the 10 minutes it took me to get my pizza tons of people came in to chat with the owners and get some food. Feels like a real neighborhood joint. The pizza itself was baked well with lots of cheese. I am used to more sauce than they normally put on a pie so I'll ask for extra sauce next time. The crust is crispy and doughy at the same time. It is golden brown instead of white so it has a bit of a charred taste to it, same with the cheese. It looks like a pan pizza but with less grease. Delicious! I ate a whole small pizza by myself. lol

So delicious
Don't be scared off by the looks of this place - just go inside and order. We bought a double cheese pizza with ham, pineapples, and spinach, and I must tell you - it was so delicious! All the ingredients were fresh, the crust was covered in cheese, the dough was just perfect, and the pizza as a whole was nice and juicy. We shared a small one (10") for the two of us, and it was exactly enough for a nice dinner. The wait time was about 10 minutes. Thank you, Royal Pizza. We'll be back.

Best pizza in West Philly
I agree with the first reviewer. Tasty pizza with great fresh crust, the other places around don't even compare.

The royal treatment
At Royal Pizza the environment is like a family and the food is made with care. The best pizza in the area and their mega fries are the best I have had. And trust me I tried them all. Their wings are the best tasting and the best priced, and their strombolis are stuffed to the limit. The best University city has to offer. Try them and you will agree with me. I promise.
