the rx used to be place where they used to serve fresh food according to the season but now they have had the same menu for over a year and its not great plus the new owner removed everything that reminded you that this building was once a pharmacy...its not worth the money any more

Best mac'n'cheese I've ever had. Superb service. Had dinner with a friend on a beautiful late afternoon, watching the sun stream in from the front windows. Every part of this experience was delightful. Highly recommended for food, service and atmosphere. Neighborhood is gorgeous. And thanks so much to the staff who opened a few minutes early just to let us in!

I went to RX during the Dining Days of University City. I was not impressed by the food at all. The orginal price for the food is expensive for what they are offering. I had the cornmeal calamari, butter milk fried chicken, and blueberry crisp. Cornmeal calamari the cornmeal overpowered the taste of the calamari it's best to use flour. Buttermilk fried chicken, mac-n-cheese was bland, no taste whats so ever. I had to put lots of salt & pepper on my food. Fried Chicken and mac-n-cheese should be full of flavor. Also the mac-n-cheese looked like Kraft Mac-n-Cheese from the box. The plate appearance wise wasn't that appetizing for the chicken and mac. Blue Berry Crisp was the only good thing. Thank God I didn't have to pay full price for this meal because I would be upset.

i have been a west philly resident since 1995. i remember when this little restaurant opened its doors and since the very first day, this comfy little dining spot has not disappointed. the food is always fresh (the fish alone, on the menu is a reason to dine here), the atmosphere is warm, cozy and comfortable while keeping "class" (this place is not a "down-home" eatery) and the fresh, seasonal, locally grown food and changing menu keeps me coming back time after time. the crispy, lightly fried calamari with the sweet and savory thai dipping sauce, the featured fish (the branzino is so beautifully prepared, served with warm chicpeas and seasoned to perfection) and the in -season desserts (wonderful varieties of berry tarts, cheesecake and comforting brownie sundays) make this place a sweet spot to visit for a perfect meal. the byo option is a definite bonus and adds to the charm of this west philly gem. the owner also contributes to the lovely vibe of this restaurant, as he is friendly (but not overly "hovering") and warm. so glad to have such a stellar place so close by.

Recently having moved to university city I was quickly reccomended to try Rx. The experiance was fantastic, the restaurant is a small homey place with a great selection on the menu. The food is relatively prices and the quality is absolutely phenominal. Personally I reccomend the Saturday and Sunday brunch which is amazing. Must stop here if your in the West Philly area.

Like many similar experiences here, mine have been sub-par with the exception of a few dishes. The dinner menu hasn't changed in forever it seems. And $30 for an entree' at a BYOB in West Philly is just plain silly. However the dessert menu is vast for such a small place. Get the sausage trio app if they bring it back and the scrapple w/ apple butter during brunch is scrumptious.
