SAAD's was not exactly the sit down resturaunt i thought it would be but the food was great. Seating is limited though so if you go on a weekend you might not get a seat easliy. If you want something fast and different it's wonderful.

What a discovery!! Finding authentic halal eateries are hard to find nowadays even though we see the word splattered all over the place. Ever notice the sausages laying on the onions & peppers at the corner halal stand. Don't get me wrong I'll grab some non-halal foods from steakhouses, or even a Chick Fil A, or food at the Applebee's/TGI's of the world etc. But the family; thats a no-no. Strictly halal for the old schoolers and Saad's was the perfect joint. We were about 10 deep and were looking forward to some good middle eastern/american food. When we got to the restaurant seating was not a problem but could have been had we arrived a few minutes late. This place is like a turnstyle and I give credit to the staff with holding it down. We tried a variety of foods, the cheesesteaks both chicken & steak, falafel, maroosh chick, lamb shawarma, baked chick, fries & rings. While the cheessteak was loaded and tasted very good, I couldn't say the same for the chicken. Just didn't fit the bill and would stick to the beef at future visits. The chicken maroosh was out of this world. Heard a lot about it and damn it was just as described. Honestly I was scared of the garlic sauce having it funk the breathe at other establishments. But this one was 20 for the sandwich and thats on a scale of 1-10. Definetly getting one to stay and for the go during my next trip. We also ordered the falafel combo which was good and healthy, had better faf's in nyc. The baked chik we also could have done without as it was the run of the mill order with relatively no spice. I need flavor in my baked chik. Finally, we ordered the lamb sharwarma combo with salad and rice. This was the only negative from Saad's as I was expecting something different not cooked shish kebob. Thinking more on the Mahmoons's line or turkish sharw. We'll give this a skip on the next go around. Yes, the family and I will be back!!. Maybe the kofta would be a good one. Regardless this is a great place if your passing by or taking the family out for "fast food" authentic halal. The staff was welcoming, gave salaam's entering and leaving, food was good, and the family was happy. What more could I ask for.

Saad's is a very welcoming and family-oriented restaurant. I recommend the fish or falafel platters. Their secret garlic sauce is not like I have ever tasted. Try Saad's once and you will be hooked!

As a very frequent Saad's customer, I have to say that this is one of the best joints in town. Great falafel, Greek Salad, baklava, rice pudding, etc., etc., etc. As for the service, Saad is a sweet, generous man who will probably remember your name the second or third time you visit. Food is served promptly and with a smile. (Note to the "falafel Nazi" reviewer: Get over yourself, princess. I have asked for alterations in my order, and Saad has always been accomodating. Sounds like you went in with a bad attitude because somebody spare-changed you outside.) I encourage everyone to go to Saad's, eat some great food, chat up Saad, and decide for yourselves. Cheers!

Saad's is tasty middle eastern food, perhaps some of the best chicken tawook I've ever had! However, the operator/owner is the real life Falafel nazi! You do things his way, order only off of the menu with minimal changes, pay only in cash, and act as if he's doing you a favor for serving you food and taking your money. I asked if he could make a simply combo platter and that I was willing to pay extra for it and he flipped out and told me to 'take my food, sit down quietly, and eat it." He got very upset and completely irrational and make a scene. At this point, we simply just left. Falafal Nazi! All hail Saad! The entrance way is always teeming with aggressive panhandling homeless people, they can ruin your night. If you can swallow your dignity and pride as a customer, you'll love the food....enjoy!
