Delish!
we had an awesome meal. The red broth for the mussels alone was superb. my favorite though was the pork chop milanese. And you will never have food come out of a kitchen this hot. Already want to go back!

if you like L'angolo
Good quality italian food, but don't expect the usual red gravy menu. If you like L'angolo in South Philly, you'll like this place because it is owned by the same enterprising couple. Some of the items on the menu differ from L'angolo, but the best choices are still the fish and the pastas.

Favorite Place in Philly
It was my husband's and my anniversary last nite, so we decided to go into the city with my son and his fiancee for dinner. I had read about Salento, and decided to have dinner there. I have to say we all had an excellent experience. The waiters were great and very attentive, the appetizers, main course and dessert were absolutely awesome. We all agreed that this restaurant is now our favorite place.

Another hit in Phila
I review about 10 Philadelphia restaurants a year and to be quite honest it's hard to be disappointed in this city. We come up from the shore on Sundays, see a show and then go out to dinner. Never look for anything fancy. Almost always Italian, BYOB and moderately priced. Food is important, atmosphere is important and service is important as anyone letting down tends to detract alot form the experience. It's the experience we like. Salento caught our eye as a sister restaurant to L'angelo which is a very positive and memorable experience. Salento did not let us down. Great food, reasonably priced and maybe because Sunday evening is usually slow the service was excellent. Four in our party. Lobster ravioli, pork tenderloin, chicken with a balsamic type sauce and lasagna. Apps were Mussels in a ed sauce and a vegetable antipasto put together by our waiter. All food excellent, hot, well presented and in just the right amount. And the dipping olive oil was to die for with marinated olives. Now a favorite.....

as close to Italy as you can get!
I love this place. Service is always excellent, and the food is as close to Italy as you can get. I love their other place (L'angolo) too, and this place is just as good if not better. The artichoke appetizer is incredible, so are all the pastas and fish dishes. Definitely one of my favorites in Philly!

Love this place.
Have been here twice and have been blown away by the quality of food and the attentive service. The owner has served us both times and has been incredibly accommodating and gracious, and even offered to make my picky dad something off the menu. The desserts are also fantastic--I believe the owner's wife is the pastry chef.

Love this place!
The food is amazing and the atmosphere is of your own local restaurant. They accomodated a request for a menu item previously served (not on current menu). I have been to this resto twice now and loved it. I hate to write a good review and tell others (my secret) but so want to make sure they continue to get business. A favourite byob of mine now!
