    Disappointing

Extremely disappointed. I usually frequent the Cinnaminson location but since it's under renovations, I decided to give the main location a try. My first surprise was the difference in menu. This location is mostly dedicated to traditional Korean fare so it lacks a number of the fusion items at the Express restaurant such as the fish tacos, mini-wonton tacos, and fried oreos. So, instead we ordered bulgogi koagies, fried pork dumplings, a bulgogi quesadilla, and jap chae (we usually get it with bulgogi but in the main location, that's the only option). So, ate the koagie, and I had to keep spitting out pieces of fat. Disappointed, tried the dumpling. They were soft, looked more like they were steamed (but it had some browning so it must have been fried), and they were not as stuffed as the dumplings I would get from the Express. Biting into it and very little meat, still managed to bite into some fat, though. Getting upset, opened the quesadilla and it was a mess. It wasn't cooked to being crispy, it was 90% cheese and being cut up it reformed into one piece. Bit into it, sure enough fat. Angry at this point, opened up the jap chae and very little meat and ate the noodles and they had no flavor. Everything I ate here was sub par. I don't have a kind word for anything. Remarkable the differences between two locations.

Sammy Chon's KTown BBQ is such a treat for us!!

We had been to Sammy Chons in Cherry Hill and Cinnaminson and now had the opportunity to try the China Town location since we only live 15 minutes away. We have always loved Sammy Chons food and the Chinatown restaurant did not disappoint us! We got the chicken, pork, and crispy fish koagies. The fish koagie was a new try for me and I loved it! My favorite koagie now. The fish is tender. The breading is perfect! Add the special sesame dressing and a little juice from the cucumber kimchi and it is awesome! I ate the whole thing in one sitting and wish I would have ordered another one for dinner!! We tried the potato shrimp for the first time and it was so good!! The shrimps are huge! The potato is nice and crispy and the spicy, "sesame?" sauce dip was so good!! Another favorite is the pork dumplings! yum!! Besides the koagies, our absolute favorite are the chicken wings. My daughter was salivating waiting to eat these! Her favorite food is chicken wings and she's eaten from and at so many places that she could be an expert. Sammy Chon's is her favorite. We got honey sesame (my favorite) and spicy #4. These wings are awesome. Not your typical bar wing. They are crispy, crunchy, and so tasty! We love them. I like when they come "a bit wet" because it's that much more flavor to eat! Now on to the sides. We ordered take out and my husband loves the kimchi! I'm not a big fan of cabbage period but I like to cut it up really small because I love the seasoning. The cucumber kimchi, (spicy kirby pickles?) is my favorite. I told my family to take whatever cucumber kimchi you need to put on your koagie, but the rest is MINE! I could eat a gallon of it every week! The owners are so friendly and accomodating and the staff that we have interacted with are wonderful and so helpful! We really do love Sammy Chon's KTown BBQ. It's a real treat for us. So much different and better then the regular pizza joints/Chinese restaurants in the city that are so Americanized in my opinion. One last funny thing I have to mention is when my one daughter first ate Sammy Chon's wings she sighed and said, "it's like Heaven in your mouth!". What an endorsement!!

Much needed Korean food in Chinatown!

Great food at a great price, and friendly service to boot! The fried chicken wings are simply the best I have ever had. Be forewarned, however, that they can be very spicy!
