As said earlier, everything is great about this place except the service. Personally, I'm willing to put up with the poor service because the food and atmosphere is so good. No one has ever been rude to me in the years I've been going there, but I also can't call them nice or cheerful. They also take their time in serving you. Best bet is to go with someone who is a good conversationalist when neither of you have to be anywhere, and go in knowing that there won't be any chit-chat with the servers.

Usually get take-out but have eaten in and ordered from both the Chinese and Japanese menus. Food is well worth the return trips. You have to try the Bite Size Spare Ribs with black bean sauce, they are very tasty whether you eat in or take-out. The Golden Money Bag Crab Meat appetizer, while not on the online menu, is available and is a unique and tasty appetizer. They also have a good selection of fresh sushi.

I get sushi from Sampan Inn regularly, and it is consistantly of top-notch quality, at very reasonable prices. Usually I get take out, however the sushi bar provides nice ambiance, albiet with slow service.

I was very dissatisfied with how rude staff at Sampan Inn were to my family. I won't ever go back there again, even if they have decent food. No one deserves to be treated so poorly.

Great Sushi, atmosphere and service in a small town atmosphere. No hussle bussle, convenient public parking.

Sampan Inn has excellent food at a decent price. Have only ordered take out so I cannot speak for sit down part of restaurant.
