    Tight Seating & Filthy Bathroom!

Parking is brutal. Seating is tight and timed. Veal is very chewy and grisly. And the bathroom needs to cleaned by fire. Clorox just won't be enough to get the job done. Not that anyone tried that!!

    Burnt Gravey

Took me 20 min. to park. Seating very tight. My gravey tasted burnt and my Veal was rubbery. Will not waste my time or my money going back.

    Don't waste your money!

To start, the seating is very tight to start. I ordered the veal saltimbucco which was literally flavorless and the veal was very chewy and gristly. I also ordered the homemade tiramisu which had no bittersweet cocoa topping (instead there was a gooey vanilla (almost like a cool whip topping). The waitress kept appologizing. To add insult to injury, I was asked if I wanted anything for dinner in place of the entree, so I asked for the chicken saltimbucco. After getting it with my dessert, I was charged full price for that entree. I came to enjoy a sit down meal and instead, got a meal to go at full price($19.50)! What a disappointment! Also, since they do time seatings, you will need to leave when your tw-hour time slot has expired.

    Overhyped

As a former chef and local S Philly resident, this restaurant was recommended. I was aware of the cramped dining area but had hoped this would be offset by good service and better than most S Phiily Italian restaurants. The clams casino were exceptionally salty, the figs and sausage in balsamic vinegar, which sounded appetizing, was presented on a plate and resembled pieces of something in black bean sauce. They were overly sweet. The chicken in the caciatore was overcooked, the stuffed calamari was undercooked and the server forgot the pasta that was to accompany the cacciatore. Worst of all, the service was very, very unattentive and it took several minutes before we could get the person's attention to remind them of the pasta missing in action. Finally, to add insult to injury, we had to stand up and find a person who could present us with the check and the 20% gratuity which was added to the check. No wonder that was included. Guess they knew that such lousy service didn't warrant such a gratuity. Never again will my family go here. My parents 63rd anniversary was a major disappointment.

    Amazing close to home experience

I have always live literally 4 blocks from here and never knew how good it really was. I took my gf for valentines day and all i can say is i was blown away. We started off our meal simple with appetizers like garlic bread and soup but it wasn't until the entrees was i stunned. I had ordered the chicken saltemboca which was roughly 7 large chicken breasts and each piece amazing and as for my gf she got a dish of chicken parm large enough to feed a family of four. Not just were the meals huge but they were delicious. We ended our meal with a "slab" of peanutbutter gnoche cake ... out of this world. The staff was amazing along with the atmosphere. Definitly suggest reservations and will definitly be going again!

    Authenic Experience!

Last friday my friends took me here for my birthday. And I truely had one of my best dining experinces ever. Promt greeting our table was ready and waitng for our 8 pm. reservation for 6. a nice round table. Our wine was opened promptly. glasses already on table. The waiter recited a wonderful list of speccialties. He made some recomendations. And we were on our way to an incredible dining eperience. Figs with sausage.,fried homemade meat balls with broc rabi., and the best risotto balls I ever ate . They had braised beef, veal ,pork and were cheesey. the meted in your mouth like butter. enough for each peson .For dinner I had a veal cchop stuffed tender and every bit of 16 0z. before stuffed with fontina, spinich;and prosutto as the waiter said.My vegetairian friend was accomadated with many recommended selections Like stuffed artichoke, an arugla salad with shaved parm lemon and evoo smoked salmon was suggested as a topping on the salad so she went with it. we all tried and loved it. followed with truufle cream wild mushroom raioli. The waiter was Marc. He told us he was family. And TREATED US LIKE WE WERE FAMILY. Too full for desert they gave me a slice of complimentary cake with a candle. we all sang. follwed by pinaplle limonchello also complimentary. We were not rushed at all. The place was still busy at 11 pm as we left. I assured them we will all be back. A nd this was the best Italian restarant I dined in since I was last in ROMA.

    Scannicchio's is Superb

We tried this on the recommendation of a friend, and we were thoroughly delighted. The food is delicious. The wait staff is helpful and eager to please. We will certainly go back many times. The only difficulty is parking which is a challenge in all of South Philly. Best advice, go early, but do go often. This place is a real winner.
