My family has been patronizing this place for many years, both to eat in and take out. We found the prices to be a little high, but we like the food and have been more than willing to pay for the good food and good service we received. In the last year, I have lunched at Shangri-La Inn on three occasions and have been offended each time. When trying to get the server's attention, my guest and I were constantly made to wait. The waitresses just ignored us until we got the attention of a male server. The restaurant was not busy on any of these days, so we did not understand the long wait time. They close during the week from 3:00-4:00 to prepare for dinner service. On each occasion, at 3:05, we were asked to leave. The ladies started to hover around us at 2:55 (very uncomfortable), and then they designate the youngest to put us out. My family is in the food service business and we would never ask a customer to leave once they were seated. How discourteous! Three strikes, you're out. No more dining in. Service has declined in the take-out area, as well. Apparently, our $125 take-out orders don't warrant courtesy and correctness. When we check before walking out, there is always something missing from the order, but we've been charged. The ladies at the front desk are curt and the manager is insufferable when problems are brought to his attention. I have alerted all the households in my family that we will no longer support Shangri-La Inn. We have asked our friends to boycott them, as well.

I had the Hibachi when I went. The food was good, the chef was excellent. The prices were about average. The main problem I had was with the service.

I'm not a vegetarian, but I love Tofu and I love Moo Shoo dishes. This was the first time I ever saw Moo Shoo Vegetables with Tofu. It was superb! I wish it was a few dollars cheaper. Still, very delicious. What I didn't enjoy was the service. I had to ask the server several times for water. It wasn't until after I had ate some Wasabi from the Bento box I shared with my friend and I was fanning my mouth that she finally gave me only one glass of water. No refills. She wasn't warm at all. It was n't until it was time to pay that she seem a little nicer. If I return, it will be for takeout only.

Maki which should have been spicy and crunchy were mushy and bland. Combinations sound interesting but do not deliver in the expecution.

It's now Feb. 2011 in the past year it appears that the owner has become move involved in daily business and it has been a great improvement keeping above the competition. The quality of food and portions are good but they still need to work on the staffers.

Who ever wrote that this was one of the best dining experiences of their life has either had a very short or very desolate life - and likely both. Thoroughly average. Far exceeded by many Asian restaurants downtown.

Made reservations and was seated right away. Food prepared in front of you, so its hot! The personal chef had a sense of humor. Overall, the food, atmosphere and price was worth it.
